Is there any way to opt out of the 599 program? Like if you stop going to class because you decided that you wanted to get a job now will they completely stop your benefits? My benefits are on hold as of this moment but i was wondering if i was going to be able to continue to recieve unemployment benefits. I haven't filed this week because i am scared that if i mark that i havent been going to class my unemployment benefits will be completely removed. Please help.

A requirement of receiving benefits is that you attend the training.

NY says this on 599:
Quote:
A delay in notifying the Department of Labor about your training attendance may result in a reduction of any additional benefits that may be available to you. In addition, failure to disclose attendance in training while receiving benefits may result in penalties and forfeiture of future benefits.

Whether or not you can continue benefits may depend on when you enrolled and whether or not you can do work searches in lieu of going to class. None of us here can answer what rules govern your approval.

Call your state for exact answers. An update on what you are told would be appreciated.
