Ok so as everybody now knows nj unemployment is being overwhelmed. So here is my question.

I filed a claim in January and had a definite return to work date of 3/16/2020. I went back to work Monday and now it appears my company may be shut down Friday 3/20/2020.

So to avoid having to call..what are my best options?

Option A) claim for weekly benefits this Sunday and say I worked and enter the amount I made For the week and just file again to reopen it?

Option B) wait a week and just file a claim to reopen it?

Thanks in advance!

Option A doesn't always work. Hopefully, we start getting a list of states that will allow a period of time before closure of more than a week. Once a claim closes because of "excess" earnings, you have to resort to Option B. The great thing is that you know what you have to do to get your claim to either stay open or get reopened without calling.
