I keep getting this message below when I try to sign in for the past few days. The eternal optimist in me is hoping this means they are updating the exhausted claims to add the 13 weeks.
Although someone posted earlier they had problems certifying online and had to call in to do it so who knows.
I'm scheduled to certify for benefits this Sunday (April 26th). I'm only scheduled to get my last $100, exhausting my benefits.
If California rolls out PUA on the 28th, does that mean two weeks later (on May 10th) I will receive my full, normal weekly benefit amount "only" ? Or will CA also backpay what I would've gotten this weekend had I had my full weekly amount?

It’s PEUC not PUA. PEUC is for the 13 week extension to anyone who exhausts their payments balance.
As of the time of this writing it’s not yet implemented..
mines been exhausted since 3/22/20 so we’re about to be in the same boat
But for the second half of your question I HOPE they backpay in the gap between exhausted and 13 week extension but it’s not 100% sure. They’ll have to be paying me back the entire month of April +$600s on top which is how’s it’s worded and yes I hope they do
Seems like they will choose a specific date for everyone with ended claims to start the 13 week extension and then backpay. Since they have March 29 listed as a cut off date of sorts, I was thinking they could choose that date. But then they started the $600 on April 11th IIRC, so that might mean they "could" start the 13 weeks at that point so those two payments would coincide.
In order to get the full 13 weeks of $600 before it runs out at the end of July, we would have to start getting it by w/e May 3.

My opinion is they will start people who'eve exhausted claims before March 29th starting with week ending 4/4. Others who have exhausted benefits after March 29th will start with the date they've exhausted their benefits. That would make the most sense to me. But it's a guessing game.
Someone just refreshed my memory on the link. FWIW, the Reddit employee did answer that PUEC will be part of PUA.
(Scroll to the quotes about PUEC.)
That doesn't make sense to me because PUA was intended for unemployment tied to corona related events. I did not think the PEUC was tied to a corona related event. Because it's supposed to be for those who've exhausted benefits after 7/1/19 which means lots of people have exhausted claims from July 1 2019 through early March and still unemployed not having a thing to do with COVID19. I thought the PEUC was an extension of both regular exhausted UI benefits and continuation of PUA after those weeks of benefits were exhausted. In total 39 weeks max would be given between either PUA + PEUC or UI + PEUC.

Yeah it is different, but as far as the technology, it might be linked. Although that employee might also not be in the loop of actual decisions, so who knows. She/he did seem pretty strong in her answers about it though.
But she specifically kept referencing "as long as your claim is open."
They will probably roll out PUA and those claims will include the 13 week extension option. Then they will get around to those of us with ended claims. Maybe they feel since we already got our full claim amount, we aren't a priority. I would think, we are an easy fix, so I'm hoping it will be a quick process once they actually start working on it.
