He said it could take up to 10 days for them to look at it and to keep checking my claim status online. Rep also said they are still working on claims for people with exhausted benefits (Scenario A). The reps answering the phones are consultants working from home with limited system access. They can only view information they can't make changes. I'm hoping they will do something soon for us in Scenario A.
When they say update online are they are referring to seeing an update via your online DOL account where our dashboard is? or do they mean from the main UI page button where it says to check claim status? Is your benefit year expired as well as benefits exhausted? I'm just wondering how they're handling extensions for those with both expired. It seems like those with valid benefit years but just exhausted benefits have been easier fixes. Well you should be hearing soon if the 10 day time frame is legit. I don't know if senators/assemblymen move things quicker or not. I did get an email from assembly womans office who emailed back and said she forwarded my info to DOL today. Other congressman's office hasn't given me anything but lip service.. every week the answer is they haven't received any updated information on my claim. Feel like saying there is no darn claim because I'm expired. LOL so frustrating as it doesn't seem like it would be that hard of a fix. I saw some people say to make sure to update our PINS and direct deposit. But you can't do that unless you have a valid claim. And I think PINS are only good for a year. So I'm sure that will be the next hurdle if I even get that far in this mess.

The dashboard claim status on the personal DOL account does not work you have to use the one on the main UI page. My benefits exhausted in Jun 2019 and benefit year ended Nov 30, 2019. My personal DOL account was no longer active I had to create a new account. When you create an online account it does not ask for any claim information. When you create a new account you can enter a new PIN and your direct deposit info. I was able to use my old log in credentials and PIN to create a new account and my direct deposit info was still there from my exhausted claim.

According to the information the rep had today he said people in Scenario A are eligible for the federal 13 week extension (including the additional $600 fed funds) starting week ending Apr 4 2020 and after that the 20 weeks they just announced (hope he is right). I contacted the governor/senator/congressman numerous time have not heard back from any of them so far.

I have not seen any posts here from anyone other then you that are in Scenario A. Have you? My hopes would go up if someone from Scenario A group would post news that their exhausted claim was extended.

I feel better now since you've exhausted in June 2019 and mine exhausted in July 2019 and my benefit year expired early jan 2020. So then you never received anything either from them as far as email, text or snail mail. It was only you calling that prompted it to be sent to specialist?

My DOL account is still active. I can log into it from DOL login page.. is that the State of NJ Department of Labor & Workforce Development one that's light blue and dark blue NJ DOL & WD box at the top and your email address is the login ID? That's the only online account I've ever had and where I was able to print my 1099G back in February. I don't see anywhere to change a pin from the DOL account dashboard. It has update address/phone # and update direct deposit information on the left hand side, but not anything about a new pin That is usually created when you file a new claim and i thought it used to ask you if you have a pin already if so enter it if not create one at that time, but that was all during filing the new claim.

Congressman Chris Smith's office responded that they have not heard anything in response to them sending over my information. I sent him the form he requested probably 7 weeks ago. And every week like clockwork I email him again and get a nice we don't know anything yet back from his assistant. I just emailed Greenstein earlier today and she sent response back in less than an hour asking for last 4 of SS# and claimant ID number (which I gave the one from my expired benefit year.. cause that's all I have LOL since no flipping active claim)

their office's response back (which doesn't sound like others who've said they've gotten 2 or 3 day turnaround times when they contacted their legislators).

I just sent your information to the Benefits section of the Department of Labor. While there is every expectation that you will be paid retroactively, they are slowly working through the backlog and I can’t give you a date when they will finally get to your claim. The pace, however, has picked up considerably so hopefully you will be contacted before too long. And rest assured, you will get any monies owed retroactively.

Should you require immediate assistance (food, potential homelessness) please reach out and please keep me informed as to when you receive the benefits.

Please keep me informed as to when you receive it.

So IDK if/when we will ever receive our money. I keep thinking kind of a joke PEUC stands for Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation as technically we've been waiting since early April for this "emergency" money.

so i figured i would update those in NJ on my tale of woe. To recap

Exhausted benefits 7/19/20
Benefit year expired 1/19/20

Was on DDU (disability during unemployment) August 2019 through 11/2/19 and recovered from disability. this ran off of my regular UI benefit claim (now expired and benefits exhausted).

So got through to UI yesterday. pencil pusher took information will have specialist call back in 7 days maybe longer as they're backed up. really? no kidding.

Called UI again today. tried hitting different option. got lady who said my UI claim is still marked as PP60 which is disability. To which I explained shouldn't be as I faxed back the DDU claimant form advising them of the recovered disability date of 11/4/19. She said right now showing balance (yea of $300 I left on the table) and that she will have to send it to the team to review. I asked what team would that be UI or DI team. she wasn't sure but did say once it was cleared through disability I should be entitled to the PEUC extension. The kicker is I tried to avoid all this and follow the rules. I damn well notified them and have fax confirmation to prove it. And on top of it per NJ UI website under FAQ it says if going from disability to UI there is a know glitch in the system and to email disability dept advising of recovery from disability to close out disability claim. To which I did that twice over last couple of months as a CYA. Never got a response but figured it was documented although they never let you save it or send a copy to yourself.

So I take it a step further and get DDU on the phone and guy says yes claim is still turned on for disability claim even though it's not payable or being paid at this time. no kidding. recovered from disability and my UI benefit year which the DDU claim ran off of is expired. He then says that local UI office has to fax over form BC380 to DDU to authorize DDU to release my information back to UI. Are you kidding me. Bad enough one state agency can't do their job now I have to involve 2 state agencies and have them actually communicate to each other. And what local UI office as they're all closed and from what I've heard until 2021 they will remain closed.

I just can't believe all this time this is why I've never been notified of the PEUC. especially when i took every step to avoid this problem.

I did get email from congressman's assistant saying the congressman wanted me to contact her at my earliest. email was from 4:15pm and I promptly tried to call. office was closed and I had to leave a message. This woman's head is going to spin when she hears this convoluted mess.

I may try DDU again tomorrow and see if someone different gives me a different solution.

this is what it says on UI website under FAQ so WTH am I missing?

I just finished taking Temporary Disability or Family Leave Insurance and now I’m eligible for Unemployment. I tried to apply for Unemployment online but it says that I already have a claim open with zero balance.

Please notify the Temporary Disability / Family Leave Insurance division by sending a message via their online form. We are working with the Unemployment Insurance division to find a solution to this technical issue. Please note we are experiencing very high volume due to the coronavirus emergency, but we’re working diligently to serve all our customers and ask for your patience. We understand your frustration and we apologize

Geez! What a mess. They really make things complicated. This is good news though that you are cracking the code to what happened. They should be able to fix this now that you are actually able to get people on the phone. (That's a miracle in itself!) It sounds promising. Fingers crossed that this works out soon. You're on a roll with the calls so probably a good idea to keep going tomorrow. You will get to the bottom on this soon!

Thank you. I just got a "Notice of exhaustion of UI Benefits" letter today. Its very generic-dear customer-no personal info. Seems just a letter that goes out to everyone whos benefits are about to exhaust, but still concerning bc it says no fed or state assistance is available to me through Ui once my benefits have exhausted. So since I am receiving I should expect another letter saying I will get the 13 weeks or the 13 weeks will just add on?
Thanks again guys

I was on here last week as I had just "exhausted" the last of my NJ reg. unemployment and the BIG ZERO was showing in my remaining balance. The scenarios of A,B and C......ok, can rule out A and B for me but confused on C. .......every other thought is my family needs this $$$ and the well, let's call it another 4 weeks plus the 600 ending in July and if not employed by Aug 1, then really *&%#@! B/C without the add. 600 can't even tread water. Called NJ UE like many of you the Central Jersey # and kept hanging up when it went to the recording of "call back the next business day. You can get through, jut need the time, when I finally got through my hold time was then another 26 minutes.....okay, and have come that far. Spoke very NICELY to the employee and got as much help from her that was possible and needed. She confirmed that on June 24th, the day I made my last claim that UNEMPLOYMENT confirmed my 13 week extension and she gave me the total $$$ amount and it matched up exactly with my 13 weeks X my same weekly benefit.....its a start and a little stress relieved for the moment. Like many of you, I kept checking my dashboard.....no reboot of my remaining balance and so everyone understands, there won't be a reboot.....don't stress. The following week I received that blue NJ unemployment envelope and there are 2 boxes. One that says you qualify for 13 more weeks and one that does not. Mine was checked off that I qualify, just like the rep said. I kept checking to see if my dashboard updates....and again so you know what to expect...it won't. Fast forward to my 1st claim of the 13 week period yesterday, go through the normal steps that you have when claiming....time slot, social, DOB.....it then triggered my to a little stress and application that has a few basic questions. Stress level high b/c we have all read so many diff things and one being if even one thing is answered incorrectly, then......Only 2-3 questions.....estimate the last time you worked in NJ / Did you work outside of NJ / Did you collect from another state / Verify that you are truthful and hold your breath, brings you to the page that you enter your social, and then again the page with your PIN. You're still holding your breath and then BANG.......to the familiar claim page that you have been claiming your weekly benefits......You know what to do here and certify with the truth. It then brings you to the next page that traditionally shows the $$ amount that will be processed as well as what your new balance remaining is. I checked my dashboard again today and IT DOES NOT UPDATE THERE. I received the normal confirmation email that my claim was put in and then the next one overnight that the DD had been processed. Today, it hit my account like previous ones and is pending as normal and will clear. I know this will help some and still other will be frustrated. Their verbage says if you have been collecting and it runs out you do not have do anything it will be automatic and then dot, dot, dot you have the ABC scenarios.....in my case it was automatic and the lettter...not email came from NJ Dept of Labor. Did I need to make the call, I think most of us can understand and I still wanted to know whether or not I had to open a new, or existing claim.....In my case, I did not. Automatic and then slight change when in your time slot as I stated b/c it triggers and knows by your social the 13 week scenario that you are now in. If i put anyone to sleep I'm sorry, i'm hoping it helps or even clarifies for some if not many. The easy thing to do would be not taking time to share and say everyone is on their own....but if even a few people would pay forward with good character and moral compass, wellllll....you know, it does make a difference. My best to everyone...Your friend in Aberdeen.
Thank you. Makes perfect sense. Just like the federal 600 doesnt show up, neither will this federal 13 weeks additional UI. That dashboard info was golden bc I would have been stressed! Thank you so much! Ill look for my letter of approval. One question, when your reg benefits were about to exhaust-did you get a letter stating so? Im in NJ

yes generic letter goes to all claimants near end of benefits. you are supposed to get a notice. Is your benefit year expired as well or just benefits exhausted? most got theirs tacked on and 13 weeks benefits added to current benefit year and might say "on extension" for the claim. i can't remember if it was jersey that noted that on the benefit year.

As my benefits were exhausting I did not receive any type of notification(s). Not through email nor through the mail. That's when I turned to this forum and thread for answers. It was a Friday, just 2 days after my last claim that I had the time to hammer away on the phone....it took me about 40+ calls as I would get the auto message that the call volume was "high" and to call back the next business day. Kept calling and trying different prompts and then I finally got through with a wait time of about another 28 minutes to speak with a rep or leave my call back number and I was not about to hang up. The rest is in the thread and yes, though stressed and frustrated I knew the best approach was to treat the other side of the call with respect that we all deserve. I know it has not been like this for so many and so many are still with no answers and in limbo and top that off without the financial benefits that they so need. I hope that helps....there were no notifications as I was getting closer and closer to a ZERO remaining balance. After I spoke to the rep on that Friday, the letter for the 13 weeks did come less than a week later. She told me it triggered the day that I exhausted the last of my benefits and she was spot on.

Asked for my pertinent information (claim date which I asked if he meant the expired benefit year claim date to which he said yes, SS#, DOB). He said I will definitely get an email and MAY get a phone call back from a specialist if need be so to be sure I answer all unknown calls. I asked about the time frame on a response and he said it used to be 7 days but could be longer now since they're backed up. He did take my phone number but after I hung up I realized he never confirmed my email address and wanted to kick myself for not reconfirming it. I'm assuming they will respond to my email that is my login ID for my DOL account for the dashboard and the one I always got confirmations sent to after claiming benefits each week. At this point I don't assume anything though. So basically nothing again. So now have to try to remember to keep my phone glued to me 24/7 and answer every telemarketer call that comes in. LOL

Also realized after I got off the phone with a live human I probably should have asked about my PIN since last time it was used was almost a year ago. Anyone have any experience with that. Only time I needed it online was when I claimed benefits each week. And last time it was used was middle of July 2019. I figure that will be one more problem and I don't think you can just change it from your dashboard unless you have an active claim??? Does anyone know if that's the case?
Glad you finally got through!
