Anyone in CD applied for/getting EUC?
First of all, I applied for and was refused Unemployment Benefits last Nov, Appealed it twice with still "no" for an answer and then I stopped Appealing. My wife got a nice paying job, but I (to this day) kept looking.
During the last week of July, I got a notice in the mail about getting EUC Benefits. I know that EUC hasn't got anything to do with my "refused" Benefits from last Nov. Anyway, I called the number to apply and everything seem to go ok......answered all the questions with no problems. A few days later I got another letter telling me how much I'd be getting every 2 weeks and the total of my Compensation. Then I got a PIN number for calling in (or online) every 2 weeks. A few days later, I got a Debit Card for the Compensation. Tried going on line and on the phone using my PIN number for "continuing claim", but it tells me that there is no Claim for my SS#. A few days ago, I got a notice for filing a "continued Claim", but it still says that I don't have a Claim going. Tryed calling the office in Colorado, but just can't get an answer.
Do I just need to wait longer to see if my Applicaton was approved? If that is true, then why did they send me this Debit Card?
Any help will be REALLY, REALLY appreciated!!

Why don’t you go to your local unemployment office and talk to them; most likely they will help you straighten out everything.

I am in Arizona, but I have a debit card they sent me so maybe I can help. Basically I was eligible on a particular date. I had to wait until the end of that week, call a hotline and answer an automated survey. Two days later, the money appeared on the debit card and I went to an ATM to withdraw the cash.

Every week on Sunday I have to call the same number again and do the same automated survey. The key is, every Sunday I am making a claim for the previous week. My guess is you haven't waited long enough. I get paid weekly, wheras you are getting paid every two weeks. So you probably have to go through the initial two weeks, call in a claim that you are still not working and then the payment is credited to the debit card.

It's kind of like when you start a job, but don't get your first paycheck until a few weeks later. Does that make sense?

We have decided to wait b/c each Notice that I get says it takes up to 5 weeks for the Claim for EUC to be approved (or disapproved). It's just that we have received these different things in the mail making it "look like" my Claim for EUC has been approved.
This EUC benefit is an Order that President Bush signed earlier this year.

Had to end up sending an e-mail to Chase Bank (where the Debit Card was issued to me from). Someone from the Colorado Dept. of Labor & Employment called me last Saturday....Saturday they work? Anyway, I didn't hear my cell phone ring and missed the call, but the guy left a message to call a 303 area code number (Denver, CO area) to talk to someone about my situation/Claim. Have called numerous times and either get a busy signal or am automatically put on "hold" and just sitting waiting for someone to answer..........doing that right now, but have to disconnect to do some other things.
Don't know what is going on, but I do know that I haven't gotten anything else in the mail about my Claim Approval, so.........???????????? I think, since my original Claim wasn't approved last November, this Emergency one won't be approved either. Only thing is, why in the H*LL did they send me the Debit Card and numbers to access the Coninuing Claim area????? That "tees" me off!!!!!!

I am in Texas and they don't seem to handle it any better. I have no clue what is going on, can't get through on the phone, and the person I reached via email couldn't tell me if I'd be getting the EUC or not.

They said I'd get a letter when my regular benefits run out telling me if I was eligible to apply. From there I'd have to apply to the EUC, and if they do it like they do everything else there will be a delay in between where I'll have zero money. I hope I get a job before then but I only have about 2 more weeks left of UI benefits... it's not that I've exhausted the TIME limit, it was the dollar amount in my account that was setting the limit, which I don't get because I haven't been unemployed before this layoff for YEARS. I have worked full time for the previous 5 years and part time for the 3 years before that.

I haven't been "not working" since my youngest son was in diapers (he is 10)... so I absolutely do not understand how the amount available to me was so low as to not even last 4 months? I was self employed for one year out of all that time..... maybe that's why?

I got a letter in the mail yesterday telling me a number to call to give them more info. We aren't giving up hope yet, but I sure do hope that someone answers this phone number. Don't want to get continuing "busy signal" or be put on "hold" for an hour. Will let you folks know what happens with the phone call.

Waited 2 hours (cell phone ) to talk to someone from the CO Dept of Labor & Employment. My Claim had fallen thru the "cracks"......was approved then was Closed. The PIN number they sent me to file for a "continuing Claim/Benefits" didn't work so they didn't get my filings. Anyway, my Claim was reopened and "active". Will receive money next week. Boy, this has been a pain-in-the-butt, but the endurance (waiting) on the cell phone paid off.

So there is a delay between when your regular uec benefits run out? And then you have to wait to reapply til after they run out? That sux... I hope we can make that financially. If this is the case, that is real bad for us. How long is the delay time?

I know this happened to me last time I was unemployed in 2002 they extended it, and I don't remember a delay! ... we are in IL.
