Anything's possible. Manned space flight is possible. The above scenario is trite.

Yeah - bit of a stretch huh?

Reminds me of the post 9/11 stories of people who knew a friend of a friend who knew a guy that once employed a guy who was the brother of someone killed at the WTC

Default Congress reconvening on 01.19.10

Multiple media sources are reporting that Senate Democrats are crafting a job creation bill that would boost funding in four areas believed key to spurring the economy: small businesses, public services, infrastructure projects, and energy efficiency programs -- but so far no specifics have been finalized. Nothing yet on the Senate's position on extending UI or COBRA benefits for the jobless.

The $174 billion jobs bill passed by the House in December 2009 included public works projects as well, but $79 billion of that $174 billion would go toward extending unemployment and COBRA benefits for the jobless, and lifeline programs for the poor and jobless through the end of June. The House bill does not include the two-month extension of these benefits that President Obama signed into law before the end of 2009.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, economic forecasters are saying that the December 2009 jobs report, to be released Friday morning, should show no net change in job totals but a slight uptick in the jobless rate to 10.1 percent. Economic reports have shown a net loss of jobs each month since 2007.

Congressional aides are saying that action on the jobs bill -- including the reconciliation of the bill already passed by the House and the one in development by the Senate -- will be tackled after Health Care Reform is passed. Democrats in the Senate and in the House want to get the Health Care Reform bill completed by the President's State of the Union message later this month.

The House returns next week -- Tuesday and Wednesday -- when their work will be limited to suspension votes. The House will then break until January 19, when the Senate is also scheduled to return.

I'll be posting future updates on the legislative activities on these jobs bills on the Prospects for Unemployment & COBRA Extensions thread in city-data's Unemployment Forum.

Hello,

I only said that it was possible:

Main Entry: pos·si·ble
Pronunciation: \ˈpä-sə-bəl\
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin possibilis, from posse to be able, from potis, pote able + esse to be — more at potent, is
Date: 14th century
1 a : being within the limits of ability, capacity, or realization <a possible but difficult task> b : being what may be conceived, be done, or occur according to nature, custom, or manners <the best possible care> <the worst possible circumstance>
2 a : being something that may or may not occur <a possible surprise visit> b : being something that may or may not be true or actual <possible explanation>
3 : having an indicated potential <a possible housing site>
synonyms possible, practicable, feasible mean capable of being realized. possible implies that a thing may certainly exist or occur given the proper conditions <a possible route up the west face of the mountain>. practicable implies that something may be effected by available means or under current conditions <a solution that is not practicable in the time available>. feasible applies to what is likely to work or be useful in attaining the end desired <commercially feasible for mass production>.

Thanks,

Paul

Still - one heck of a stretch - but whatever makes you feel great about "being alive" having escaped possible immolation.......

as they say - something may be POSSIBLE but that does NOT make it PROBABLE LOL

Opyelie,

I never said that it was probable?

Main Entry: prob·a·ble
Pronunciation: \ˈprä-bə-bəl, ˈprä(b)-bəl\
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin probabilis commendable, probable, from probare to test, approve, prove — more at prove
Date: 1606
1 : supported by evidence strong enough to establish presumption but not proof <a probable hypothesis>
2 : establishing a probability <probable evidence>
3 : likely to be or become true or real <probable outcome>

I only said it was possible!

Paul

I have no idea. I can't figure their system out. When I applied for the extension last spring they turned me down and then they approved this one. I will apply for it and see what happens.
