There was an unusual image on one of my prints. This was taken back when I used a 35 mm camera. Photos is from Oct., 2004.
It was taken at a house with a Halloween display in the front yard. There was nothing directly in front of the camera, like trees or bushes. (Bushes below the camera but not at camera level.)

Interesting...I was not able to access the exif data, but I assume that the shot was taken using a very low shutter speed, so the most likely explanation is from light reflecting off an insect flying by.

No exif data on 35mm film ..... but show shutter speed a pretty good guess as color film was ASA 100 on average, as at 200 - 400 it got a bit grainy.
It's so amusing to see the "scientific" identified folks seem almost frantic in their explanations . . . you do realize that everything is energy and energy does not "die," but only changes form, correct?
I presume you "believe" in electricity, even though you cannot see it . . .I doubt if it were explained to you without you experiencing it if you would "buy into" it.
I "believe" orbs are angelic beings or spirit guides, as I have said.
Those of you who "believe" orbs are merely specs of dust, why the interest in the subject? Dust is not all that interesting, I wouldn't think. Why would you even waste time talking about dust?
Sorry, but we aren't the frantic ones...We are the ones with reasonable explanations, and the reason I am interested is because I dislike people making up nonsense over everything they cannot explain, and disbelieve those that can explain.
We may not be able to see electricity, but we can sure feel it, measure it, use it, and can see the results of it...
Yes dust is just dust, and not very interesting, but that is all it is, and it cannot be changed into spirits except in the imagination.
We may not be able to see electricity, but we can sure feel it, measure it, use it, and can see the results of it...
For millions of years there was phenomena which could not be felt, measured, or "used", and we were ignorant as to what the results were....for example ultraviolet frequency of light. Just because we cannot do these things with orbs or other paranormal phenomena does not mean that they do not exist. It simply means that we have not yet developed the knowledge or equipment to give us an understanding of what they are and how to measure, and "use" it. BTW, the term "use" really grates on me. It implies that everything in this universe is there for our use. Some things exist for their own purposes.

I have to agree with Sans. In fact the irrational and closed - minded view is the one that takes any unexplained event, effect or phenomenon and fits it into their own particular prejudice, whether ghosts, UFO's or a religion and then says, effectively:
'Can you explain this? If not, I must be right.'
We then come up with explanations - we don't know, but they are possibles - and this is dismissed with the most cavalier air as 'frantic...explanations'.
What do you have as an alternative? 'I believe..angelic beings.' Not even an explanation. Not even a mechanism. Just wave a wand and produce fairies.
Of course you have a possibility out of many but that doesn't even approach believability.

How does my statement that we use electricity imply anything? It's just a fact. Yes, for years everything we could not explain was attributed to the supernatural, (Good things attributed to God and bad to demons) but that list has been shrinking for eons as we discover the explanations, and we can, and have done this with "orbs". Are Orbs Paranormal? The Rational Evidence: The Orb Zone
I find it interesting that the culture at CD is to debate everything. In other words, there could not be a thread on orbs, in which people who believe orbs are energetic images could discuss their experiences, post their pictures, etc.
Instead, it has to be a debate of the superior ego - who has the most "rational" argument that dust SOMEHOW infiltrates digital photos on a random basis - even when the lens is wiped clean . . .
I actually have a photo of an orb that I recently took and it is amazing, but I would never post it here because for me, the picture has spiritual significance and I would not allow it to be desecrated by the super-rational egos hell-bent on interfering in other people's sacred beliefs and practices.

imcurious i'am sorry for how personally you have been attacked you did not deserve it of course. i would have like to enjoy discussing the topic and looking at the photos too but as you so very well noted the (gang-like) culture won't allow it.
