It is not my view. It is the view found in the Bible. II John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Scripture is very clear on this, and only human opinion suggest otherwise. Yet God tells us that most people will be lost in their sin. And that is because they enter the wide gate that leads to destruction. Jesus tells us only a few will enter the narrow gate that leads to eternal life. Now the ghost that people encounter would have us believe, that all of us will exist after death. And that is why they appear as someones lost aunt or uncle, ect. However, this is clearly a case of demonic deception.
I don't care how many people you are willing to condemn, your will and interpitation of scripture is not the final outcome of human destiny, in Romans 5:20, where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. That means that Gods grace cannot be " Sin Drowned", sin cannot condemn humanity. Your interpitation of the bible can condemn them, while you save yourself, because you worship that which you do not know. You think God is not able to save unbelievers, so you increase your thoughts about others being in your Christian hell.
Those like you egarly populate this hell, because you think God created man to die and not live. Your thoughts on salvation is dead, no life for sinners. Jesus was dying on the cross and told a life long sinner he was forgiven, a stunning example of grace being more important that judgement.
To you, judgement is greater than grace. So you condemn unbelievers, while you glory in your self righteousness.

Peace.
I would really like to respond to your comments. However the post here is about ghosts and the Americans who believe in them. So please, lets try to stay on topic.

Evasion.
Eternal torture in your hell is a ghost. A christian ghost that has huanted the minds of mankind for centuries, its devoid of the desire of God who wants all of humanity to be saved, 1Tim. 2:4.
Now, as a Catholic we are told NOT to engage in superstition and to avoid it. We are taught to be skeptical of anything supernatural that we may or may not witness, and only assume it to be so after all other possibilities have been exhausted. If I thought my home was haunted and I called a priest, he would bless the house and investigate to see if there is anything supernatural going on, probably calling in a specialist of sorts to determine if it is haunted, or if we're all just nuts (which may be the case)
So personally, although I believe in ghosts as being highly possible, I do not know if they exist, and during the occasional eerie or questionably supernatural occurrence do not assume that to automatically be the case (such an event would include the time we went back in time about two minuets while driving down Clinton Rd. in Northern NJ We're not sure if it was supernatural, some kind of electromagnetic abnormality, or some kind of combination of the two)
Also, I feel that when it comes to the issue of the supernatural, science gets a little bit arrogant as if it has all the answers. It doesn't have all the answers, and that's why we don't know if ghosts exist. We can choose to believe or not to believe, but we do not know. Since we don't have any solid evidence one way or the other, we cannot make a definitive conclusion about the existence of ghosts no more than we can about the existence of God (or gods).
this topic seems non debatable---those that have experienced the paranormal believe--or in their fear attempt to overrationalize it and those that never experienced it would not even address the belief as having any substance imho
You mean to say that there are THAT many ignorant Americans?
As H.L. Mencken once observed, "You can't go broke underestimating the American public." So it doesn't surprise me if 150 million Americans actually believe in ghosts. Ghosts are probably only the tip of the iceberg, where strange beliefs in this country are concerned...and the less I think about that, the better I feel!
