I know one thing, I see a hell of a lot more stuff zooming through the sky, down on my property in Gonzales, than I do under the haze of the lights of Austin at night.

do you have a little green man in a cage for everyone to see if not?? dang it.. thought we might have some real evidence here... pictures and vids are no good,, to easy to photoshop nowdays..
Everyone is talking about the Republican debate but I find this UFO subject much more interesting and entertaining.
To anyone interested in the UFO debate, you should try to visit the UFO Museum at Roswell, New Mexico. It used to be free and they have some things there that are thought provoking even to the skeptic. The last time I was there I had the opportunity to meet Glenn Dennis, the young mortician in 1947 who was asked by the Army to locate some childrens' coffins. I still have the alien hat pin he gave me that day.

You are correct, sir. Nothing now constitutes proof. With Photoshop and video editing all we have is either the word of people of integrity or personal experience.
I think there is life elsewhere in the universe, I just don't think they're visiting us. Most sightings are experimental aircraft.
There are some 5-10% of cases that cannot be explained. Nick Pope the former head of UK ministry of Defense has investigated a few interesting cases. While he doesn't out right claim the unknown cases are 100% of alien origin he says that most governments like to deny that they care about the issue because they don't like to admit that they have lost control of their own airspace.
Now why is it so hard to believe that a more advanced race would come and observe us? What if they're curious individuals like us who like to observe and investigate. We investigate animals, caves, oceans, countries and forests on our planet and have even sent probes to other planets in the solar system. I have read some people don't think it's likely because of the distance. However, if there are more advanced races wouldn't it be logical to assume they might have discovered methods to travel large distances in shorter periods of time?

It's also logical to assume that any species that has survived long enough to develop a level of technology able to transverse galaxies, that they may also have a significant bit of aggression in their nature. For us to be waving "hi" may be like waving a raw T-bone to a hungry lion.
But then one should remember what is said about those who make assumptions?

Isn't it the opposite, the more advanced you become the less aggressive you are? We still have a lot of issues but I don't think it compares to some of the things our ancestors did the past such as slavery, overt racism, constant religious wars, sexism, etc. While many of these still exist in to an extent in third world nations they're not as grave issues as they were in the past in most developed nations.

Having been in commercial aviation for over 30 years, I can tell you that it is a rather common event and one that most pilots don't bother to report anymore.
I myself have seen more than a few unexplained phenomena and have had a couple of near encounters (airspace encounters).
When these encounters happen and avoidance maneuvers are taken .. a report must be filed and the reports usually reflect an emergency 'hands on' control situation due to weather conditions!

That is certainly a common scenario in Hollywood movies but we know the written history of man is very short when compared to his total existence and Hollywood is very idealistic. I would contend that aggression in any species is a tool of survival and is selected for in evolution. The fact that each year we have more and more laws to control aggressive behavior may say something about its suppression in a civilized world but in terms of raw survival, aggression logically would assist a species' survival. However, just for example we say aggression is deleterious to a species survival and the behavior is slowing disappearing in Homo sapiens, it would still seem rather naive for a lower life form to think it will be met with hugs and kisses by a vastly far-more advanced species. Aggression is not just intraspecific but is also interspecific which is, I assume, what we are talking about with aliens and humans.
And too, we should remember that these aliens may not have seen any Spielberg movies.
