Yawn.

I wonder what the strobe lights of an airplane would look like with a time shot, and what any passenger compartment lights would look like??? ... Oh.

Now if it was a giant AOL CD, I might be interested.

What airplane flies ten times its own length in a time interval of a few frames of video? A commercial airliner traveling at the speed of sound would require about 2 seconds to travel ten times its own length. At cruising flight speed, probably about 5 seconds. If this was compartment lights in the video, the startled passengers went by in a matter of milliseconds.

The object edisappears behind a steeple of the cathedral, so was further away than the building in a shot that is about 500 feet wide at that distance. So even if it was immediately behind the cathedral, it would have traveled at least 500 feet in maybe a tenth of a second, or a mile per second, or Mach-5. What object with strobe lights travels at that speed?

I'm not saying it was an alien spacecraft, I'm saying yours was a very uneducard ans unscientific yawn.

If the camera moved even a fraction of a degree it can create crazy artifacts

That one looks/acts just like a shooting star. I think the weird looking stills are just incidental to the digitized image.

jtur, you would be wrong. However, you are entitled to your opinion. This is a case where you would be better off asking your own questions, perhaps first to someone who is a seasoned aircraft mechanic or engineer, and then to an experienced videographer. I've got a pretty good idea what is happening, but I don't need to get in a adversarial discussion or explanation. As a hint, ask how the power is supplied to various strobes.

The same "crazy" effect would be visible in all other objects in the frame.

My reply was to a post (yours) that contributed absolutely nothing to the discussion esxcpt to suggest that cabin lights or strobes were plausible explanations, if not indispitably certain ones. I explined why I did not think they were cabin lighs or srobes, because (unless the video was doctored), the apparent speed would rule out physical manufactured craft within present human technology.

It's your turn to explain your mysterious and carefully concealed ideas, instead of just posting snickers and snide comments. This is the science forum---what does that suggest to you?
