Heck, the Sasquatch who live in the Blue Mountains in Eastern Oregon are known to stop in town from time to time. Baker City's a friendly place.

During the primaries President Bill Clinton was whistle stopping for Hillary in small Oregon towns. He stopped by Baker City, and spoke (without a teleprompter, of course) and answered questions on the steps of the historic court house for an hour. Since “Bubba” seems to like all people, a nice time was had by all.

I took this picture:

Note the fellow in the suit and tie at the left side of the picture. This was the first time we had ever seen him in a suit, I didn't know he owned one. He usually wears his special t-shirt for special occasions:

I can't tell you his name (I will call him Anonymous) because we respect his privacy – we are afraid that someone will try to capture him – or worse, even shoot him.

When the Prez was done talking, several women AND Anonymous gave him sealed notes to give to Hillary.

What was in his note remains a mystery. Some guessed that it had something to do with the fact that most Sasquatch seem to be guys – very few seem to be gals. I'm not sure what they meant by this.

This forum is to discuss these items. I see no benefit of your trolling. You are a time waster.

The question is - would Slick Willy hit on a female Sasquatch? I vote yes.

I like the picture, but why is "without a teleprompter" so important? Politics & OT forum is the other way.

I think that picture Versatile posted of the eye in the bush looks more like a mountain lion eye than a bear eye.

I agree. Most animals are much more aware of human presence LONG BEFORE the humans are aware of animal presence.

I hear the "why have we not discovered a skeleton" question. I worked in northern Idaho on a forestry crew, on the sides of the mountains -not on hiking trails- all summer. We never saw a bear skeleton. Not one. Finding skeletal remains is not a good argument.

I thought I saw a patch of wild marijuana leaves in the foreground of the picture.

I GET DETRACTORS ABOUT THERE IS NOTHING . I OFFER TO TAKE YOU ON AN ADVENTURE AND HAVE AN EXPERIENCE AND I GET NO TAKERS! The detractors have not gone out and done qwhat is necessary to learn jut as you aren't going to be very good at hunting anything at all if you don't do the required things. Staying up very late at night without a campfire and a radio blaring and shooting guns off and i openly carrying them will be assure way to not have an experience.
I see post about people out camping by themselves and not ever having any kinds of experience. I just about assure you that they never circle their camp and look for sign before dark and then the same come morning they don't circle the camp and look for sign where someone/something stood in on spot for quite awhile and observed your camp.
Do any of you naysayer campers do this on a regular basis? I bet not.
You need to buy a pair of NVGs. They are coming down in price. I'm an avid backpacker, sometimes go alone, and when I'm in bear country there are times I hear things that keep me from being able to sleep, out of fear of a bear charging into my tent haha. I swear one day I'm going to buy myself a pair just for peace of mind.

I seriously doubt he has done one backpacking trip, his reference to "shooting guns off" and "radio blaring" is too strange to picture except from someone that gets his ideas of camping from a TV show or something. Obviously if he had he would understand that weight concerns would prohibit carrying anything larger that an MP3 player and certainly not a weapon (maybe bear spray) unless it was in Alaska. I asked him to bring his bigfoot ideas out in his local REI, filled with serious hardcore hikers...the guys that cover 20 miles a day for days on end in some serious backcountry hiking, with nothing but a 50 pound backpack...he never answered.

I've never had a problem in the backcountry in bear country. I have had problems in developed (car and trailer type) camping areas where bears are used to looking in the trash bins for treats. In Alaska's Denali the park rangers actually gave us a heavy duty round containers to store your food (away from your camp) as you sleep. In the black bear areas of the Smokies I hang my food and cooking utensils from trees in my sleeping bag wrap, away from camp. I guess it also discourages bigfoot from visiting. I never feared bears, I've camped in wild Buffalo land and feared them stepping on my while I slept. I fear skunks and racoons. I sleep under the stars if the weather is right, woke up once to one chewing on my sleeping bag covered foot.
