This is the common definition of the word paranormal.
Paranormal is a general term (coined ca. 1915–1920[1][2]) that designates experiences that lie outside "the range of normal experience or scientific explanation".[3]
So, when we speak of paranormal behavior, we mean actions that lie outside of our normal experiences.
1- Are they something that we should be afraid of?
2- Where do they originate?
3-Why do they happen ?
4- Why is a paranormal experience available too some, and not others?
In response too these simple questions, there are simple answers.
1- only be afraid if the behavior is that of an evil, or mischievous spirit.
2- they originate in the realm of the spirit.
3- there are many reasons why they happen, depending on the behavior in question.
4- One needs to understand that spirits inhabit all kinds of matter, and here on earth, that matter is human, and animal.
In the human factor, a paranormal experience of any kind, is usually a form of communication by a spirit.
That communication can have a variety of reasons for wanting to communicate with a certain human.
It may be some unfinished task that the spirit was unable to do before death took over the body.
It may be to put a human mind at rest as to some unanswered event it may have had.
The reasons for the paranormal are endless, and as mortal beings, we will never know many of those reasons.
There are many people that can, and do converse with spirits, especially if that spirit was one who was close to them when it was as a human.
The reason they are able to communicate is because they are indeed closely tied.
What we call paranormal behavior, or experience, is non-existent in the spirit world.
This is quite normal behavior for spirits.
The study of spirits, is an intriguing experience in itself.
It has given me an entirely different perspective of our lives here on this earth, and has given me a brief glimpse as to what lies beyond.
Bob.

1- only be afraid if the behavior is that of an evil, or mischievous spirit.
Being afraid means to fear....to suggest we should be afraid of evil only opens ourselves up to being a victim.
DO NOT FEAR EVIL....seriously!
Fear is a tool of evil.
It only gives evil power over us.
People who do not fear evil do not have to worry about evil. Evil will not target those who are not afraid. To fear is weak and that is what any predator, be it natural or supernatural, will look for.
Cautious is a much better attitude to have when talking about evil.

I have met spirits in my mind asking me if I have ever danced with the devil. I have been cursed with demonic possession. Unlike most I was trained in how to deal with those spirits. I curse myself in evil spirit possession for sport and practice. I tell the spirits they need to learn how to be weak before they can be strong. That which you must control you give your power to. The secret is moving with the energy, doing this should always go without saying. Those who are the most skilled never advertise their ability. It ruins the good deeds they do for others. The best things in life are free.

This begs the question: "What is evil anyway?"
"Evil" is a human concept, not an objective force.
Non-human entities naturally wouldn't necessarily operate under such contrivances, and to see everything in terms of "good" and "evil" is a hopelessly myopic perspective.
But fear is different story.
Fear is an energy... a powerful motivating force, and your worst enemy when it comes to delving into the world of the spooky. Victims of "demonic entities" are the victims because they produce fear by the bucket-load... though whether some entities actually feed on "psychic energy" (for lack of a better term) produced during fear responses or just get a kick out of scaring a person into dysfunction is a good question for debate.

Good answers. I agree. I have met people who really ARE afraid, and it can be debilitating. I think you hit the nail on the head -- fear is something we "feel" and if we are not afraid, then we build strength and "protection."
This is very interesting. Thanks!

No there is evil and I have met it.
I do not live in fear though.
Fear feeds evil.
