Here's one straight from the sci-fi channel. Russian air traffic control tracked a 6000 MPH bogey, And then received a transmission of "cat-like" language. The broadcast intrusion is not what's unusual, And it could have been a glitch in the systems but 6000 MPH I imagine would be fatal to a human pilot. A different, wild story either way!
It's not the speed that's deadly, it's the acceleration (the rate the speed is reached).
Our astronauts go three times that fast all the time, and the astronauts coming back to earth tomorrow will slow from over 17,000 mph to zero, but the slowing (deceleration) will happen over a safe period of time.
I think it is pathetic that we cannot even translate the Earth languages in realtime, let alone some unknown cat language. What would we do if aliens were to land - we would have to have one of them translate for us.

If they are advanced enough to get here they should easily be able to translate for us.
As to the bold part there are devices that can translate many many languages in real time. They are actually fairly cheap or at least reasonably priced when I considered buying one a year or so ago.
