Not sure that this is a paranormal topic per se, but I put it here because folks who believe in or have experienced paranormal phenomena tend to be a bit more open-minded about such topics. I posted here about lucid dreaming a few months ago and got some really interesting responses.

So here it goes: have any of you engaged in past life regression either on you own or with a hypnotherapist who specializes in this sort of thing? I'll leave comments about my own experiences for later. I'm very interested in what others have experienced and how you feel about it.

Note: I don't want to debate whether past life regression is "real" or not. I'd just like to read of your experience with it.

I have no personal experience but I recently finished reading Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian Weiss, MD. I'm totally captivated by the prospect and feel it really explains things - for me, at least.

Yes, I have done it with Brian Weiss (I think that's his name) . . .it wasn't life-changing for me. I did recall some past lives, but doing so did not add anything to my current life.

I'm afraid to have it done because I a almost certain that I was a victim of the Holocaust. I am not Jewish but I have gad dreams all of my life - before I'd ever heard of the Holocaust that I was in a cramped cattle car, a place where I couldn't breath, having surgery that was painful and with very skinny skeleton like people.

I have met survivors and I connect with them instantly.

I am not anxious to relive these things. Also when visiting East Central Europe I knew where certain horrible events had taken place and while I'd never studied Eastern European languages, German or Yiddish, I find them very easy to speak and pick up. My accent is perfect.

I do believe in it but it's not for me.

I'm not really interested in pursuing past life regression. It's something I never gave thought to until my daughter recently passed away. Someone suggested I read Many Lives, Many Masters. I found it to be so comforting and it just made sense to me....about life, about death, about the universe.

Wow! I totally understand your fear. I AM Jewish....the thought is just horrifying. I've never really given much thought to having had other lives but I do know that I've always been drawn into any type of book, movie etc about plantation life/slavery in the South. No nightmares though.

Strange because I too am also drawn to America Slavery, Southern literature, the Civil Rights movement and anything like that.

I am also both drawn to and repelled by the South.

I have been told by several different psychics that my name was Anna, I was married to a doctor, I was in my 20s and I was in either Treblinka or Auschwitz - Berkinau or both and that medical experements were done on me and I was gassed.

I am so afraid to persue this further.

When I was four I was at my grandmother's house and she had some old LIFE magazines. I was drawn to one with pictures of the Holocaust. The whole issue was devoted to it.

I was looking at the pictures for about 45 minutes and I was fascinated and horrified. When my Grandmother came into the room where I was she said "Oh you shouldn't be looking at this!"

I said "but I know these people."

I do not remember this but it was told about it. I remember looking at the pictures and my grandma being mad. I don't really think she was angry, but she yelled.

I had it done years ago with a hypnotist who had a very good reputation in our city as a psychic and past life regression hypnotist. It was interesting. I recalled about 3 different lifetimes. Who knows if it is real or not but it felt real. I felt the emotions associated with it. I have it on tape but haven't listened to it in years. When I was put under it was as though a window opened and I saw and felt what was happening. Again, who knows if it was real.

Oh yeah, that little subject. It can be done, given the right person and the right practioner performing the technique of PLR on someone.
