I wish that what ever is hanging out in our laundry room would pick up after itself!
Our bird lives in the laundry room and is rather annoyed by things randomly falling off shelves and the light being turned on at night.
However, the bird does seem to talk and make more noise since we moved her. Not protest noises, just more babble and chatter.

The railroad used to pass below our property, and there was once a house down there not far from the tracks. I heard from an elderly neighbor that the woman who lived in the house was killed on those tracks - he didn't know if it was suicide, an accident, or what. The house was torn down about 60 years ago, and we now own the adjoining property on which the house stood. You'd think it would be a sure site for a haunting, but I haven't seen any ghosts. Going down there, especially at night, does creep my out. I tried to find out about it at the historical society, but no luck.

Speaking of "dogs", I've always been interested in the Newfoundland, "Boatswain",think that's the right spelling. Have heard about on trips to England, that belonged to George Gordon, Lord Byron, and haunts Newstead Abbey. Well supposedly anyway. As stories go. Boatswain's remains were placed on the high altar there and Byron had made plans to be buried there also.Seems the dog was though very highly of and often mentioned by Byron "as my only true friend". Fate would have Byron buried in a much more famous place and supposedly Boatawain still roams the grounds looking for his master.

When it comes to seeing ghosts you can either see them or you can't. In my family, I have a few people who can, but most of us don't see them.
My brother in law had lots of experiences growing up in Pennsburg PA. The house where he spent his young adult life was haunted by an old resident who had killed 2 men trying to rape a woman and killed another man who slept in his house over a dispute. While he has seen many unusual sightings such as small people dancing around and groups of people walking around as if their feet were 2 ft below the floor of the house he only ever saw "old man Jabbs" twice. On the first occasion he was working at the family restaurant across the street when the refrigerator generators started to vibrate in unison and it sounded like someone laughing. He remembers the hair on the back of his neck standing up when he spotted the man walking out of the room as he turned around to see who was in the room.
His son (my nephew) stays in the house during the summers and has seen a young girl's shadow going up the stairs as he goes down the stairs and it used to always creep him out to stay there but he has gotten used to the frequent sightings.
My wife always sees ghosts and spirits and it seems she sees more around halloween. A few years ago we were taking a road trip from North NJ to Lime Rock race track when we got some free tickets from her work. I was driving and she was reading a book. We were driving on a larger 2 lane county road when a feeling came to her and she exclaimed "my god this place is really haunted" as she looked up to see an old building complex which looked to be either a psychiatric ward or a prison.
Finally my wife's cousin is a nurse in Nevada and he's seen 1 or 2 lingering patients in his hospital sitting around after visiting hours. When he turns around they disappear but he usually just pretends not to see them. One time a fellow nurse noticed that he was looking at the ghost patients and she told them that she sees them too.

No, this i not at all funny: Lmao
Appreciate ya'll bearing wih me. !. Have stated been doing reenatments of Civvil War battles for years,2. Am one of a few family members that would even give thought to keeping up the "haunted family cemetery' out in eastern N.C. 'cause no one else will but a few get within miles of it because of some possibly half-demented relative got burned at the stake around 1700(+)(-) for supposedly "in league with the Devil" as one woud enter it. That said, after coming back to NC from a "battllle reenactment" in GA., I stoppe by the "home" to see if it had fallen apart yet, nope just slow decay, however the cemetery looked as it a group of folks had spent a great deal of time working on it.Fresh flowers, a new barrier/fence
around it, as if anybody from the area would go near it. I have NO IDEA TO THIS DAY what made me turn and look toward an old barn, 'barely' standing, and standing and sitting around a spot, of no historical import. were about 8-10 "men" wearing CSA unforms, from Privaates to Unit commanders or higher. "They all appeared solid, some were smoking pipes, or cigars, some were eating"something, the uniforms appeareded new as mines does when dry cleaned. Some waved, tipped their caps, raised what seemed to be tin cups, which contined I have no idea, some were smiling as if something of humor was said, though I did not hear anything but decided it was the heat and having little for breakfast, it was easy enough to explan what I saw as "delusions" and a clear, dangerous indicatin I had gottn too much sun, as it was bout noon and food , rest, would clear my head and physically allow me to complete my cleaning -up, little as was needed. 14 , now deceased , I have no way to recall their exact relations, were referred to as "cousins or uncles", 'grand uncles or grand ccousind, g.grand uncles, etttc., I have no idea but all were buried in the family graveyard, and apparently all simpy died of "old age". All 14, more or less, fought in that war, lived through it and came back home in one piece to start over. I don't scare eaisly but I had no eplanation "what or who" had been watching me or how they came or departed but depart they did, all war, as manly families did. Even if one held a gun to my head, I'd would swear, I saw some of those same faces watching me clear up around their gaves . I still take part in keeing it neat, with youger memberswithout leaving ANY TRACE THEY HAD EVER BEEN THERE. After 6 hrs., I was ready to get out A.S.A.P., which I did, and it was not slow either. I was not follow nor did I have company with me I did not invite. I later had left for me on the eath of my aunt and g.mother, photos of the cousins dressd as if going off to war.Exactly as I saw them that hot noon day.

I used to watch a show that had people talking about their personal experiences and the majority of them were in PA. I wish I could remember the name of it - maybe My Ghost Story? Anyway, it seems PA has a lot of hauntings, maybe more than just about any other state. What's up with that? I mean why is PA so haunted?

I remember that show -- it was on Animal Planet, and I think the production company was in PA, so they didn't venture too far out the first couple of seasons.

Evil spirit in MI
In ther late ninties we moved to Port Austin in the tip of Michigans thumb. Some friends moved to Pinnebog, a tiny, tiny town near by. They bought an old farm house complete with ancient barn and a huge modern pole barn. When they moved in Bill noticed an old table in the center of the basement. He moved it to the wall only to notice it was back in the center the next time down. This happened three or four times. Finally they found out that the previous owner, an old farmer, had hung himself off that table in the center of the basement.
After that many things happened. One night something sratched Bill across the hand while he lay sleeping. The mark drew blood. There was always something eerie going on.
We invited them over to our place for a BBQ and we ate on the patio just outside the kitchen screen door. Suddenly we heard a loud noise in the kitchen. We rushed in to find olive oil flowing down the sides of the frige. We had a big, new bottle on top and it had broken about halfway down. It wasn't jagged but was a clean cut straight theu the bottle as if cut by a laser. My wife blurted out "you brought your ghost with you!"
Later we found out that olive oil is used for annointing. Go figure.
