I think if Amy is not a medium, she's the best actress on tv today. That said, she's not a witch, and some of the advice she gives people smacks of bs. I think she's out of her depth when it comes to some of the stuff she says. She also doesn't seem to care about any of the dead people. Hanz Holzer and crew always tried to help these lost souls move on. Maybe that's just not her bag.

I think one of the things I liked about the first episode I watched was the difference between this show and the other ghost hunter shows. They freak out if they hear some tiny sound. The first time I saw Amy, she said " He's trying to appear like death, but it's just a dead guy" in a nonchalant way.

Lately she's been talking a lot about aliens, and that is off-putting. Aliens are different than dead people. It's a whole other area of paranormal research.

Other fans here, what are your thoughts?
There are different kinds of mediums, not all can do the job of moving the ghosts along.

The alien thing? Yeah, the Ghost Adventurers just did one....seemed a little cockamamie....

But I like Dead Files. I like the research aspect of it. Makes it feel more real to know yeah, something really did happen there. My complaint is there's not enough of them. Seems like their season is 6 episodes....Haven't checked that.

Good one tonight. Boy, Amy's got a mouth on her that rivals mine, and I have an advanced degree in profanity. Just ask the mods here.

I have always found this show to be super boring. Not sure if shes legit or not but its a snoozefest. Shows like "The Haunted" and "My Haunted House" provide some punch and scares. I may be biased though as i enjoy a good jolt of fright and suspense.

I like those types, too. Tells a story in a linear fashion and then scares you, sort of traditional. But of the lets go someplace and find evidence types of shows, I prefer Dead Files to Ghost Adventures and Ghost Hunters. The fact that someone is actually doing research is cool....but then I like researching....

It is traditional style you are right. I have always had a fear of waking up and having someone standing over me that is not supposed to be there. Numerous episodes have had just this. One woman claimed a demon was right in her face upon waking up. An ugly one too, Like Regan McNeil mating with an Orc from Lord of the Rings. Scary, made me almost drop my chips!

I record the Dead Files so I can skip over Amy's antics and facial expressions. She annoys the crap out of me. I enjoy Steve and the research part and hearing the peoples stories, but Amy just repeats what Steve finds out during the research and always manages to do a sketch of whomever Steve has a photo of. I honestly believe Amy and Steve don't communicate during the show and share findings like they say, but I do believe Amy is talking to the producers and getting info about the house and occupants from their research findings. I think she's a fraud.

That bugs me too. They always go to break when whoever it is turns the sketchpad around, "Is this what you've been seeing?"

"YES!"

I've not watched too many episodes, but it never seems to be wrong.

Well, it would be boring to watch how many times she says no, more like this....frankly we all know they are making the sketch, they should drop it entirely, just show the sketch.
