A lady I know had a mother who had Alzheimer's. She was in a nursing home and had no memory left of her daughter, but "Barbara" visited her several times a week and would often sing her mother's old favorite hymns to her because she seemed to remember the songs and enjoy them.

One night Barbara visited and sang, and when she was finished, her mother looked at her and said, "I love you, Barbara." She was so thrilled, because her mother hadn't recognized her in years.

And of course, later that night she got the call that her mother had died in her sleep.

Wow - I love those kind of stories. My grandmother died of colon cancer and had many finger-like growths coming out of her rectum (sorry to be so graphic). After she passed there was no sign she had any cancer at all and the bad smell left the room. It seemed quite odd to me at the time but now I think she was healed while passing away.

Wow, thank you all. And what stories!

An atheist friend, female attorney, 55, told me the day before her mom passed in the hospital,"Tammy" was standing at the doorway and her mom said, Who's that behind you?
There was no one there...."Tammy " wanted me to send her her some NDEs ...after
2 weeks she had forgotten any feeling of spirituality or the 'unseen world'.

So I have told this before, but I don't know if I did here..

My friend Brad's dad had Alzheimer's for years and was in a hospice.
He passed away, there was a wake....Brad's nephew, 28, or a 'grandson' of
Brad's dad....came back to his hotel room and on his way to the bathroom...
saw all his change stacked on the dresser...!....he thought, "This is what the maids
do here?"
When he came out all the coins were fallen over!
Then, he saw his granddad in a flanel shirt as spry as he was years ago,
smiling and snapping his fingers saying, "Gotcha!"
And disappeared.
Brad could tell he was shaken up and coaxed him to tell him whassup?

Along with this story he said he was so freaked he ran outta the room.
Brad loved that story bec he is very very into spiritual, high stuff.

If I had an experience like this, I would probably wonder if I was hallucinating, not because I don't believe in the super-natural, but because I know the power of the mind and imagination is incredible. That's why even if God "appeared" somehow, those who doubt there is a God would not be persuaded.

sorry about your mom. it is so mysterious about what happens right before we go. lots of unexplained things that only we will know when it is our time. glad your mom found her ring. be aware of your surroundings as i'm sure you will see/hear from her soon. smells, sounds, whispers, touches or things that she loved, for example butterflys; or something of that nature, or a special song. she will be contacting you.

also, our loved ones come get us when it is our time; hence your friend's mother seeing someone behind her in the door; they were already gathering to help her cross over.

I forgot this, but your story reminded me.

My daughter was eight when my father died. We were living with my parents, and my dad died of a heart attack in the kitchen at 2 a.m. while my daughter was sleeping. I had to tell her when she woke up the next day that Grandpa was gone.

A day or two after he died, she was in my parent's bedroom looking at something on my Mom's dresser, and she said she looked at the mirror and saw the reflection of my father, sitting on the bed "in that red flannel shirt he always wore" and he smiled at her and waved. She turned around, but he wasn't there.
