Owlkaymyst, surmising you had an Aquarius placement in your personal placements, I was going to ask you if your Venus or Mars was in Aquarius, as all I had to go on, so far, was your Sun/Moon/Merc in Capricorn. Your interest in this forum suggests that, along with your more esoteric interests in Astrology!

With those ambitious Cap placements, that's good to have that Mars placement as it's one of the lazier Mars signs (intellectual energy mainly!), so it creates a nice balance. Capricorn is the capitalist incarnate, Aquarius the socialist incarnate, so again, it a nice balance. So when you vote, half the candidates are super-conservative, the other half super-liberal? You alternate between reading about Warren Buffett and Karl Marx?

Your hubby: One of the moodier Moon signs, Cancer, but this Moon sign creates the best listeners of the zodiac. They catch every word!

A socialist-conservative. That sounds about right, however.... I have had a long history of distaste for our government. My point of view is that the voting system is broken; one with the most money, or stemming from the ignorance of the voters. I feel my vote has little effect (results tend to back that up). Warren Buffette or Carl Marx.... How about Jimmy Buffett? (B. Dec 25) but probably Warren.
I'm a concious capitalist. Making money is what I do. As a mother I was more a provider than the huggy-soccer mom.
And my Venus is in Scorpio, 29 degrees.

Hubs is the exception to the rule (he usually always is) as far as listening. He has mental issues, very compounded and complex ones. He knee-jerks towards feeling he is being attacked. He has Venus in Sagittarius so he makes sarcastic below the belt remarks. But when in the right mood, he does listen and takes what is said to heart.

Aquarius- as a stand alone energy is not really a go get'em leader.
I would wager that those mentioned above have ascendant in a Cardinal or Fire sign and/or a strong Mars placement.

Cardinal or Fire? That would potentially be 6 out of the 12 signs! And a "strong" Mars, whatever you think that would be? Sorry, not much of "wager" on your part.

After Reagan left his governor-ship in CA he would have been more than happy to retire to his ranch in Santa Barbara, but that would have left Cardinal Nancy bored to tears!

She used to drive her chief of staff to a state of madness with her calendars, with black-out dates, like inauspicious times to travel, all of which had to be approved by her Astrologer Joanne Quigley. She used to have her astrologer do charts on foreign leaders she would be encountering along the way.

One time, her astrologer must have screwed up, like with the Reagan's meeting with the Gorbachev's in Geneva. How I would have loved to have been there, with heavily Cardinal, bossy, pushy Capricorn Raisa encountering heavily Cardinal, control freak Nancy!

Nancy: We're suppose to meet again in Rejkavik, Iceland for a follow-up summit, and if Raisa plans to attend, I'm not going! In Geneva, she wanted to control everything!

Ah! 2 control freaks colliding with one another!

Rick Perry, not Cardinal, even admitted before he ran for President: My wife (very Cardinal) forced me to run!

Mitt Romney has no Cardinal, leadership placements, but yikes! Go look at his heavily Cardinal, pushy Aries wife's chart!

Aquarian Abraham Lincoln, by the way, had his Moon in Cardinal Capricorn!

Being that a person is either a leader or a follower- it's the same odds to wager if I bet on Joe Shmoe being a follower.
Strong Mars placement is 'home' in Aries and 'exaultation' in Capricorn.

With all my Capricorn, I do well in 'leadership' positions, but those positions find me, I don't seek them out.
My rising is Virgo and my Mars in Aquarius.

Sorry, people don't just fall into 2 categories...that's so un-astrologer like to say so!

Aquarius doesn't want to follow anyone, so by your logic, that makes them a leader?

Aquarians are tremendous leaders in fields that require originality. Edison, Mozart, Galileo, Darwin, for example; look how many people "followed" their "leadership." One can't limit the term "leader" only to politics.

Or for that matter, what about Scorpio, not a Cardinal or a Fire sign, are they followers? Hardly.

I think my family member said my Mars was in Scorpio. For some reason, with my sun/moon in Leo and rising in Sagittarius, I get along with Taurus ( which is far fetched for a Leo). I'll have to get back with her. I know she said I was very lucky but I have some element that well go a long way with very stubborn earth signs. ( Bull in the pen and will not move). Probably my charisma.. (hardly.. or that makes me as stubborn as they are in my own way, just slightly different) Leos prey; bulls calculate the mindset (way before a Leo gets there) but bulls are blinded and have to be very quick.
