The local television media has been reporting about that a lot lately.

I tried to look closely at that photo, but the resolution's terrible. I can see where people said the reflection of the photographer's arm forms what looks like a disfigured woman's face, but I can't tell what forms her hair, neck area, etc..

Are IPhone cameras that bad of a resolution or was the original downsized for posting on the internet?

The comments resolved it: it's a photograph. Look at the line in the left.

Alcatraz has had a history of being haunted, with numerous investigations finding unexplained sounds, 'ghosts', etc

There is no line on the left. Compare the two pics of the window.

I did, it still looks fake as hell

Why has the second picture a transparent "bar" over it (it's missing in the first picture)?

Also, the "door" looks like is further right (from the first) in the second picture.

And that woman image looks sooo fake

But I just can't prove it wrong.

This is one of those times where we do not have enough information to make a conclusion of real or faked. To give the people the benefit of the doubt, I'm more inclined to think they actually caught a real live person, and they were so caught up in "their" moment, they didn't realize what they had done.

To me, that looks like a kid with a backwards facing ball cap, pulled back on his head, so the cap brim in near his neck.

And I've been in Alcatraz, and there are parts of the place that is darker and shadowy...

It looks like her (the photographer's) own reflection to me.

edit to add: on second viewing I agree with the above posters and the story comments that it's a bad photoshop.
