I've cruised around on this thread from time to time, and while it's interesting, I've never had any of these experiences so I can't really relate to any of you. My dreams are by and large boring, tedious, lame... I like waking up because real life is a lot more fun and interesting. I've had premonitions, but that's because I've seen outside clues for such and have considered the premonition as one of the possible outcomes. I've never talked to anything that wasn't physically there. I walked around Sedona after looking at a map of vortexes but couldn't decipher any real changes.
Paying attention to what it's like just before falling asleep and taking benedryll, which induces sleep like conditions, I've concluded that thoughts really do arise with no outside stimulus, but I can't ever say any of those thoughts have amounted to anything. Amanitas had the same effect as benedryll.
Growing up in a Pentecostal church, I've heard the whole nine yards about spirits, knowledge from god, miracles... But whenever I witness them for myself, what I see is common attitudes, which they classify as spirits, like a spirit of skepticism or a spirit of joy; knowledge from god is a premonition that turned out to be correct, while 85% of them are not correct; and miracles are false positives in medical tests. It's kinda like how people ignore whatever doesn't fit into some prophecy while expounding on what does.
It's not like I don't understand emotions. I can clearly dechipher pretty much what I'm feeling. I remember sitting in church high on hydrocodone and linking that as the same feeling I got that I had previously classified as the peace of god. And I can clearly link the intended emotional display from pictures, art, and music.
But I guess that's why I've always been interested in psychedelics though, just to see what all these people are talking about. Never taken them though do to access. I don't know though, are we just that different?
FYI from the outside, all this forum sounds like is people who can't explain what is going on in their own minds and shadier correlations than those of political statistics at election time. But like I said above, I really can't know whats going on in your mind. All I can say is whatever you are experiencing is not what the average population is, otherwise there would be more documentation of it.

A friend was going through an unwanted divorce. He joined this group about past lives and everyone their was a princess etc. No one was ever a hunch back,a leper or a prostitute. The basic course was $35.00. After a few sessions at $35.00 they were give an assignment to write about past lives.. As luck would have it they called on my friend to talk about his past lives. My friend made up a bunch of lies and read them in his report and everyone was in awe. After the class an instructor came up to him and said that he was really reaching his inner self. He just need to move up the the higher group. He declined as the cost went up to $65.00 per session.
All in all he wast just trying to pick up on a woman.

I know, that's the way I feel about this forum. It's kinda like what I want to happen is going to happen to me. And something is causing these problems and it's not my own mind.
I don't have a problem with the physical world, the emotional world, the artistic/image world, and the altered state of conscious world, but I think these correlations are really shaky that people draw.
BUT -- you have an interest in this, because you wouldn't be here.
I haven't had anything happen to me either. But I don't discount the paranormal. People I know and trust have had small things happen they can't explain.

I've not seen any ghosts, or spirits, or anything of that nature. I have seen several UFO's, a couple of them quite spectacular, but I didn't ask to see them, nor did I in any way engineer that, it was just right time, right place, just happened to see them. Why did that happen to me as many times as it did? I have no idea. Some people never see one ever. It's just the luck of the draw.

I'm 65+, have been around the block a few times, and I'm convinced that the average person has much to share with those who are willing to listen without judgement.
Perhaps your predisposition to prejudge keeps you from encountering "documentation" and also prevents people from relating their experiences to you.

Yep. I normally do not talk about my experiences with people, and I surely would not talk about them with someone like the OP. When I do share, it is with people who are open minded and people who will understand because they also have had "experiences".

There are many people like my brother, who is the most pragmatic, concrete, down-to-earth person imaginable, as strong a skeptic as the OP. He had an experience 20+ years ago that to this day he has trouble processing. He's shared it with me and a couple of others but would never ever discuss it with anyone who might scoff at it.
This brother, fwiw, is the father of the daughter whose story I shared on another thread, who as a toddler mentioned the "clown who used to come into my room at night". My brother's never ever acknowledged or discussed his daughter's account, even though he had his own experience in his own bedroom across the hall from hers.
His experience was a painful and confusing thing for him and I respect that.
