The more I think of it... it is a workable theory to test. Hard maybe but workable. I just don't have the resources to do it. You'd have to have a Global Sighting awareness site of all creature sightings. Then see if you can mark out a path of any type of sighting. The problem would be 'the human factor... all the bogus sightings.

Still it would be interesting.

On Coast to Coast Am they had a Bigfoot researcher that presented a theory that Bigfoot was an alien. I'd say that on the crackpot/made up story scale Bigfoot researchers lead the pack, very very few of them come across as credible. I like the stories but these people seem to have so much first hand experience with them, LOL.
Me, I think that if he does exist, he's the biblical descendant of the giants and nephilim, the union of man and fallen angel.

I tend to think the offspring of angels would have figured out shampoo and razors by now.

No they were not, they were only classified as a new subspecies 110 years ago, the species itself has been long known, as well as the genus.

Plus, it was 110 years ago, with a heck of a lot less tech we have now, as well as a much more remote area.

Oh yes; what in the heck are the videos convincing of?

What very convincing encounter? Where are the pictures? He had a camera that he took pictures of the one supposed footprint. This trained psychologist was not smart enough to figure out that he needed good documentation?

Where did he get his degree in tracking? One footprint does not make a BF. With most of these 'footprints' it is only one or two. Like BF never walks for long distances on the muddy shores of lakes and rivers? Footprints, in the woods and over sticks and vegetation, can easily be misinterpreted.

As far as whether he is believable: Keep in mind that psychologist have one of the highest suicide rates and they suffer from other problems: Why Shrinks Have Problems | Psychology Today. Many people can be afraid of shadows and movement in the big woods - there are some creatures that humans do have to fear.

If you want us skeptics to believe; produce hard evidence that cannot be refuted by the vast majority of the scientific community. Almost everybody carries cellphones that can take pictures. Hunter have trail cameras set up all over the US. We have roads that kill everything from your kitty, to coyotes, to mountain lions, to humans - why not one BF?

^^

I see no reason why that person would have fabricated the story. Plus in part 2 two rangers also believe the psychologist's account of what happened. Furthermore, a skeptic biologist (Bill York) went to investigate the area, turned a believer based on what he called "evidence".

If these animals/human-type species do exist, it's quite possible that their population is small.

Another interesting video clip is from Provo Canyon. It's short but looks genuine. Doesn't look like a bear to me.

I looked up Matthew Johnson in the state licensure directories for psychologists, counselors, and social workers. Nothing. If he's practicing as a "psychologist" in the state, it's not as a licensed one. He may be a substance abuse counselor or some lower-level helping professional that doesn't require an advanced degree, but use of the label "psychologist" requires a doctoral degree and a license in most states. Or maybe he's a guy with a bachelor's in psych who thought that label would add credence to his testimony. If his claims about himself are exaggerated, then how can we trust what he's saying about his encounter?

Regarding in general the reliability of the testimony of a psychologist ... I will point out that medical professionals and dentists also have higher suicide rates than the general population. Ditto for first responders and military. They're all high-stress, high-burnout occupations. I don't believe elevated suicide rates in a population makes the testimony of that population unreliable - many of these groups are trained to be careful observers.
