This is before embalming as well. This could also be about perserving a body with grasses as well.

The baths that are represented are actually fluid in the intestine/colon. One of the girls is plugging a drain in the bath pictures with a blue flower(top) that used in the first page of this thread.

So, has anyone figured out WHY there are numbers on the pages representing ( example) 12. 45. 76. 124 and are mixed with words that can't be understood? Page number can be seen in this image. It is NUMBERED 75.

I don't know what to make of the page numbers, but the women all have expressions of surprise, fear, and a kind of awe on their faces. They also appear to be pregnant, going through what looks like a waterway that then releases into another waterway. Could be about the digestive or reproductive system and what botanicals are good for it, but there are a lot of repeating words (jumbled letters) on that last page, just above, which makes me think slightly that it could have been just a brilliant hoax, even for the time in which it was created.

John Dee owned the manuscript in the 16th century, and he's the one who added the page numbers to it. Statistical analyses of the text suggest it's a real language, not gibberish:

Regarding the pregnant ladies, don't know about whether they're pregnant or just a little zaftig, but I think applying contemporary representational standards to the facial expressions is a bit much. Take a look e.g. at other drawings of faces from the 15th-16th centuries in illustrated manuscripts (or the Bayeux tapestry).

Heavy women were the beauty queens in the middle ages. They may not be pregnant, just desirable.

Been following your posts, aside from the mystery surrounding age and dialect, love the old paintings of botanicals and herbs.
Would our present numerical system be used in a book where the dialect unrecognizable, a red flag,
or could it have been added later?

There have been numerous encrypted texts since the Middle Ages and 99.9% have been cracked. If you have a whole book, as here, it should be 'quite easy' as there is so much material for analysts to work with. That it has never been decrypted is a strong argument for the hoax theory."

In the p.75 posted above one can see the same or similar words repeated many times, in some cases 3 or 4 on the same line. These usually start with the "4". For example, the 9th and 10th lines from the bottom.

They said that the page numbers were added later, I believe 1600s.
