+1 for River Monsters. Jeremy Wade revealed his true craziness when he got into the water with a species of fish that did permanent damage to his heart when one of them crashed into his chest. One of my favorites was the episode when he went fishing in the river across from the Chernobyl reactors.
Here's a link to Josh Gates' new show, starting in nine days; unfortunately, it doesn't look like paranormal babe Jael will be joining him.

On the weather channel they had stories of vodo and storms.I liked fact or fake.On the history channel ancient aliens, I liked the discovery channel haunted places.
It turns out Josh Gates' new series, Expedition Unknown, covers mostly non-paranormal mysteries (like rumored treasures, but he's such a likable fellow it's worth checking out. It's also a mostly solo effort, Josh Gates and whoever he teams up with on location. Worth watching if you're a Josh Gates fan but don't expect much weirdness.
My daughter (future scientist) loves RIVER MONSTERS.
My teens love those shows where people walk around empty houses at night, screaming, "Are you there? Hey, ghosts! If you can hear me, please respond!" "Wait! Did you hear that? There's static on the tape. Static!!! Ghosts exist!" Those shows are hilarious.
My favorite is still THE X-FILES. Still holds up after 20 years.
