The sale of religious fakery has been going on for thousands of years and will continue well into the future.

There were "pieces of the cross" and "locks of john the baptists hair" or "bone of some other prophet" being sold all over europe throughout the middle ages etc.

Heck, one account of a Roman gladiator had him purchase a narwhal horn as a unicorn horn that would give him magic powers.

Big money to be made selling stuff to believers.

THen on the other hand 75% or so of the matter in the universe is undetecable by current science.
