I know there's a lot more to it, but I would rather face a ravening, slavering, 300# sabre toothed canine predator, never before seen, than something incorporeal, that I can't see, that can throw me around like a ragdoll. Or, worse yet, follow me home and get...comfortable.

I have had a ...spooky... experience before, and I didn't enjoy it, at all. I related it to but one person, and the ridicule was...annoying. This happened at work. In an old, abandoned, WW2 era, bomb production building. I know what I felt, and what I saw. I had been in this building a lot of times before. It wasn't like I was wound tight going in or anything. Anyway, enough about that.

Ghosts scare me. Lol
They aren't all related to bad things or even bad things happening to end their life. Some of it is residual, as a previous poster mentioned, such as a tape playing back. There's nothing really there, you're just experiencing the event trapped in the environment. There's no actual spirit associated with it and the event happening has no clue you're even there. And even with intelligent hauntings, they aren't necessarily evil or bad. There are many stories of playful spirits, especially of kids. There are also many reports of spirits that come back to help others who may be in danger. I've read stories of people who were calmed by a spirit that lives in their house. Of course some are bad, just like some people are bad, but I think a very large majority are pretty benevolent.

I think 99% of so-called paranormal and unexplained phenomena are explainable or hoaxes or both. It's the remaining 1% that can keep you up at night.

Bigfoot. Pretty thoroughly debunked.

Lake monsters. Most are either explainable or hoaxes, but there are some really fascinating cases out there, and in some of the bodies of water that supposedly house a monster, it is at least plausible, if not probable.

Psychic phenomena. 99.99999% of this seems quackery and hoaxes. But not all. The brain is still the great undiscovered country of biology.

Ghosts and hauntings. Again, most of this is quackery and hoaxes, but there have been some serious studies done on the subject. It cannot be entirely debunked. And I do find the TV shows of the people running through dark houses and yelling at spooks quite hilarious.

UFOs. Probably 95% or higher of UFO sightings are completely explainable from natural phenomena, known aircraft, or hoaxes. But those that cannot be identified are really, really fascinating. I'm skeptical of alien visitors and government conspiracies, but I do think there is something going on in our skies for which I don't yet have a good explanation.

Werewolves, vampires, and zombies. Fascinating folklore, but it's fiction.

Hollow Earth. These nuts are endlessly entertaining. I love 'em.

I've had a few interesting (to me) experiences which do make me wonder.

I did an experiment on our sleeping dog a day or two ago. She was sleeping facing me on the coach. I looked at her and willed her to wake up. She woke up! Could she sense that I was looking at her? Could she perhaps sense my calling? Or was it just a coincidence? I've no way of knowing but she did go straight back to sleep. Curious.

Me, too, though of an entirely useless variety. A song that I have not thought of in years and don't even particularly like will pop into my head. I'll go out to the car to run an errand and that song will be on the radio.

It's completely uncontrollable, random, and useless. Now, if I could figure out how to make it work on lottery numbers....

I would have to say ghosts. I have experienced several strange events that defy explanation that would seem to lend themselves to the existence of them. Outside that, I would have to say that Sasquatch has a special place in my heart as well. He's out there, he's real and he's SPECTACULAR!

A little research and reading over the last couple days have reenforced my interest in cryptic animals. Particularly new and possibly not so new, canine predators. This "Hissin Critter" three toed tracks and bizzare skeletons, with spiked backs and oversize teeth and jaws have my curiosity piqued.

The ...breeding possibilities...interest me.

Big Foot? I believe there are such creatures as I've seen one. Even before that experience I found it entirely plausible that an undiscovered primate could live deeply hidden in forests all over the world.

UFOs? I've seen one myself. They are seen everyday by people all over the world. They are ''flying'', they're ''unexplained. Questions are: who are they, where are they from, and why are they here?

Ghosts? Seen one of these as well and know others who have too. Visual, auditory, sensory experiences. Objects moving, doors opening, etc. I'll include angels in this group too and past lives probably fits here also.

I find this last category to be the most mysterious and intriguing because it leads us to ponder what happens after we die. Where are our deceased loved ones? Will we ever see them again? Where do we go when we die? How is it some spirits get trapped while others move on? Who gets to be an angel? Etc.
