This will probably evoke many highly emotional responses, but if you are honest, then you will admit that often people who channel repeat themselves and answer questions in a far longer, waffly way than is necessary.

I dont want to insult those who are trying to help, yet I feel this has to be mentioned and resolved. Maybe it is a factor of the personality of the being who is the one being used?

You may say that they have to explain the compilcated issues so that the dumbest of us can understand. Yes, that may be true, but you can still say things simply in a few words. For example, we would not go off on a long discourse like this if we were speaking to a child or explaining something to them in a classroom, would we?

I have listened to hours of channeled material from different guides, helpers, etc and I have found very very few who cut to the point and explain in a few words. Why is that? If you listen carefully, they often use repetition, and vague language. The information may well be good, but voluminous. Almost like the delivery is more important than the quality of information. Like.... "How long can I engage these folk" (the longer they sit there listening to me, the better) rather than how can I get my point or the answer across succinctly and efficiently.

You can sit listening to "inspirational messages" for hours and at the end come out thinking that you have listened to wonderful information, yet when you try to distill the information into a summary, you cannot - because it has taken so many circular routes to the various points that the essence is lost.

I have LONG thought this, and you put it exactly the way it has always seemed to me. I just don't believe they're "channeling" other beings -- just changing their tone, diction, accent, and phraseology. I do believe most of them THINK they are, which might be even crazier. It's just gobbledlygook nonsense-talk to me.

I have been a spiritualist in the past for about 15 years and I went to many mediums for readings. I do still believe that there are beings in other dimensions who can communicate with us although I am not aware of them doing this to me.

As far as I understand it, time in our dimension is not fixed and there are often skips in the recording. This and other things lead me to believe that our future and past is not fixed either and is to a certain extent dependent on probabilities and on what we, as a human race, do, what decisions we collectively make and what decisions we as individuals make too.

That means that 'readings' which come from other dimensions are unlikely to be set in stone and are "as we see it from here at this point in time" kind-of predictions. If my understanding of it is correct, then that is not explained before the reading and may be a reason why so many beings prefer to give inspirational talks rather than predictions of our future.

Edgar Cayce was only channeler I've ever heard of who did seem able to see into the "past" (Atlantis, et al) and predict future occurrences (as well as treat patients). But were he alive today, James Randi and the skeptic brigade would try to disprove everything and call his "cures" the placebo effect.

I've always thought Edgar Cayce lost his voice because he was not meant to be in his first line of work, so God "stopped him" from doing that and began to use him as a channel.

But on the other hand, how much do I read into things that I want to be true? I can't even answer that myself.
