So the guy who wrote the book with the Warrens is now admitting it was all hooey.

Warner Bros. May Have Trouble Exorcising a*$900 Million Lawsuit Over*The Conjuring

Of course, for nearly a billion dollars, he might just say anything.

"Brittle and his lawyers say they have been fighting the franchise for years. They sent a cease and desist letter to Warner Bros. before The Conjuring 2 came out, but producers claimed the story was based on “historical facts” instead of Brittle’s book. However, Brittle now claims the Warrens made the whole thing up."

Every priest I've seen on the various paranormal shows has been a sedevacantist. A canonical Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox priest would have nothing to do with an exorcism on a show like that.

A sedevacantist believes there has not been a valid Pope since 1958, for those who don't know the term. I think Mel Gibson belongs to one of those fringe groups. I think an Orthodox equivalent would be a group like HOCNA.

Correct. That's the thing that bugs me about most "documentaries" on the History Channel and networks like it. Why do they never talk to genuine experts who are respected in their field? Why is it always the kookiest koo-koo they can find?

Because the History Channel has probably gotten more ratings with George the "I don't mean to say it's aliens....but it's aliens" guy than they ever had till the Hatfields and McCoys series.

I love that guy. Giorgio Tsoukalos. Don't get me wrong. What he is spouting is utter nonsense, but it's entertaining. And there is a very good reason for that.

Does he have any training or education in history? archaeology? physics? Nope. He has a degree in Sports Information and Communication and spent his early career as a bodybuilding promoter. He is the history equivalent of professional wrestling: fake but entertaining. I've always thought it a bit of a shame that his shows don't bring on "experts" like Jesse Ventura or Hulk Hogan.

Jesse "The Body" Ventura would be SO right in that wheelhouse. He was in one of the best XFiles episode with Charles Nelson Reilly as a Man in Black....loved that show....
