I think he was channeling the new film, San Andreas.

During which epoch would this have been and what are your sources?

Largest Earthquakes by State and Territory

Yes we have earthquakes in this part of Canada too sometimes. Years ago the local paper printed a diagram of all of the extinct fault lines in the area. Occasionally we feel the ones that occur regularly in the Ottawa area. The Virginia quake a few years ago even reached us. If there was a quake along the lines of the 1812 one in Missouri I wonder what would result from it.

7.8 to 8.5 quake in "Bonin Island region" and almost exactly ten minutes later a 4.7 and 4.8 in California is quick succession.

6.42 isn't even CLOSE to being massive, which would be more like 8.0 to 9. And remember, it's a logarithmic scale, meaning that every rise of 1.0 in the Richter Scale means 10 times the ground displacement.

hister is the name of a river in europe. people gave him credit when he predicted the events of ww1 (archduke ferdinand was the german baby king that was killed). and then 30 years later they gave him credit again when he predicted hitler. given enough time any prediction will become true multiple times.
Have any of you actually read Nostradamus? None of that stuff is in there.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hister

admittedly, wikipedia/the internet sometimes gets stuff wrong.

Century II of the Nostradamus quatrains

II 23

Palais oyseaux, par oyseau dechassé,
Bien tost apres le prince paruenu,
Combien qu'hors fleuue ennemy repoussé,
Dehors saisi trait d'oyseau soustenu.
Palace birds, chased out by a bird,
Very soon after the prince has arrived:
Although the enemy is repelled beyond the river,
Outside seized the trick upheld by the bird.
II 24

Bestes farouches de faim fleuues tranner,
Plus part du camp encontre Hister sera,
En cage de fer le grand fera trainner,
Qunad Rin enfant Germain obseruera.
Beasts ferocious from hunger will swim across rivers:
The greater part of the region will be against the Hister,
The great one will cause it to be dragged in an iron cage,
When the German child will observe nothing.
II 25

La garde estrange trahyra forteresse,
Espoir & ombre du plus haut mariage,
Garde deceue, fort prinse dans la presse,
Loyre, Son, Rosne, Gar, à mort outragez.
The foreign guard will betray the fortress,
Hope and shadow of a higher marriage:
Guard deceived, fort seized in the press,
Loire, Saone, Rhone, Garonne, mortal outrage.
II 26

Pour la faueur que la cité fera,
Au grand qui tost perdra champ de bataille
Puis le rang Pau, Thesin versera
De sang, feux, morts, noyez, de coups de taille.
Because of the favor that the city will show
To the great one who will soon lose the field of battle,
Fleeing the Po position, the Ticino will overflow
With blood, fires, deaths, drowned by the long-edged blow.

So some unknown YouTube "prophet" claims that a huge earthquake event will happen in California the day before a Hollywood blockbuster named San Andreas - about a huge earthquake event in California - comes out in theaters?

Viral Marketing 101

These types have no soul. They would do anything to make a buck. Inducing panic in a bunch of people they consider morons? No biggie, as long as theaters are packed on opening night.

Never believe anything you see on YouTube or read online. There's just as much quackery and lies in conspiracy culture as there is in the official accounts. Someone wants to make you believe something for a reason. Always be wary of what that reason could be. It's hardly ever for your benefit.

You have to admit, though, he predicted it to occur within a day or so of an 8.5 earthquake (depending on your source) somewhere on the planet - since earthquakes of this magnitude occur, according to the list above, c. ONCE per year, that's a pretty good "good guess".

Yeah. I've read about Nostradamus. Historians think that he used a glass scrying ball to "see" the future. But only after a pre-scrying routine that involved generous doses of mind-altering narcotics.

So in short Nostradamus liked his weed. He was a weed-enhanced Donovanesque poet. Or just another pot head.
