Think of War of the World's in the '30s. Even though it's a call-in show, it's an entertainment show and staging things for dramatic effect would fit perfectly in the tradition of things like War of the Worlds.
I didn't know it was considered an entertainment show, though I haven't listened to it a large amount. I thought is was more an investigation of paranormal phenomena.

Art bell is not the person he used to be.... He has started 3 shows in the last few years and made up excuses TO GET OUT OF THEM!!!!!!!! (Many of us think they are all bogus also.... HE JUST DOESNT WANNA COME OUT AND SAY HE DOESNT WANNA DO THE SHOW ANYMORE so he has to play these games like a 2yo child!!)

Just because deadly force is authorized does not mean it will be used. If it is just some kook in a Cesna they can just as easily get them when they landed and question them. This would probably be preferable anyway to establish intent.

I made my dad listen to that on youtube once. He used to work at Tonopah, on black projects. Once I got him to stop with the eyeball rolling (he does not like the people convinced there are aliens on the Nellis Testing Range and all it's little bases, including Area 51) he said real or not whoever did the video seemed to know a lot about the security of Area 51.

They do have ground missiles there, and f-16's....that much I was told by my father. And they do have orders to shoot to kill, and will do so, if whoever doing the flying is unresponsive to ground control and the f-16's.

The guy in the video had turned his radio off and refused to turn it on. So from the Air Force's perspective he was ignoring them, and their warnings.

I read and saw video clips of Bob Lazar. He claimed to work on crafts from elsewhere. He got in trouble when he brought people he knew to see experiments. IIRC, he was convicted of a felony for setting up a computer system in some brothel.
