I'm Cajun from south Louisiana. I can say the culture of south Louisiana (mostly Cajuns and Creoles) are open to believing in the paranormal. With the influx of Mexicans and South Americans to the area, I realize they too are open to believing in paranormal. What other cultures or regions are relatively open to believing in paranormal?

I think many are open to the idea of spirits or souls or whatever you want to call them on this earth.

The same question was asked last year, BTW -- I put my two cents' worth in that thread:

I'd add to what I said there, there's a Greek candle store a few blocks from where I work in Chicago, and in addition to candles, incense, and icons, they sell supplies to deal with the evil eye, hexes, and oils to draw good luck etc. -- pretty much the same stuff you'd see in a voodoo paraphernalia shop.

Yes. Louisiana is open to the supernatural. I also think there is a lot of activity there.

New England is very open to paranormal activity. And, like LA, it is one of the oldest settlements in the US. Salem MA - once a place of persecution - is now a place of sanctuary for people who think a bit differently.

The Lily Dale Assembly - a spiritualist community in north western NYS has been a hot bed of mediumistic activity since Victorian times. For anyone who is interested in this sort of thing, Lily Dale is a must visit.
There are boarding houses and bed and breakfasts on the Lily dale community.

There are places to stay that are less than 40 per night. Some have shared bathrooms.

Folks in Lily,Dale had difficulty with the brutal, upstate NY winter. In the 1920s, Lily Dale began a town in Florida for mediums that wanted a reprieve from upstate NY's beautiful but cold winters.

So, they made a second settlement for people who could not tolerate upstate NY's infamously frozen winters.

Cassadega FL. Most homes there are actually located in Lake Helen. Nearby areas include Deland, Deltona, and Daytona.
