ALIENS IN THE QURAN

I could go on with evidence that adherents of the world's major religions have been contemplating the implications of alien life for literally *centuries* ... but there are those here who want the drama of believing that our philosophical and religious systems will be shaken to their core and possibly overthrown by the revelation that there are intelligent species elsewhere in the universe. And five minutes from now any evidence presented to the contrary will be forgotten.

Yup. This was actually a plot element in the comedy PAUL ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_(film) ) --- by far Simon Pegg's worst movie, by the way. It's a classic straw man argument.

Interesting comment I just read posted Saturday on Kevin Randle's blog:

Quote:
If we learned to tomorrow that alien races have visited Earth, what difference would it make? We’d all still have to pay our bills, go to work or school, do chores, take care of those who need it, and wait somewhat impatiently for the next chapter of Game of Thrones.
I agree with Randle. But given the quality of the last installment of GoT, I'm not sure about the last bit.
