Don't give up just because of a few, this is a topic that is not discussed comfortably by many.
Mainly because they do not believe there is a realm of possiblity that is it real so they attempt to
discredit anyone who states differently.
Anyway, I have often found that those who are as you have described do not seek attention or boast.
They do not need to simply because those that know when they see them just know they are with one who is gifted. They may not know what specific gift it is but they know something is different.
Personally I do not seek attention but I get plenty of it and some days more than others. If my aura is
stronger I get a lot of people hovering about. They may not know why they are hovering but they do hover and start a conversation for no particular reason.
If you feel you have a gift or an old soul, if possible find a mentor who can help you delve deeper and develop your gift.
