My partner worked in the city and was due home around 6pm from a 50 mile commute. Sound traveled on that isolated gravel road and you could hear someone coming up the road five minutes before they parked alongside the house.
So I'm sitting there around 6 pm. I am watching TV so I am in the den facing away from the window off the porch. I hear the car come up the drive. I hear the electric garage door go up. I hear the car motor inside the garage. I hear the door go down. I hear the side door open and close. I hear the clomp of footsteps on the porch. I wait to hear the back screen door open.
Nothing. I get up and look out. Nothing. No car in the garage. Nothing.
So I sit out on the porch wondering if I am losing my mind. A few minutes go by and my partner's car pulls up the gravel drive.
Can't explain any of it. It really creeped me out though.

I'd say it was. I had a similar experience about 5 years before when living in an apartment. Also involved my partner coming home. I heard the door open, the car keys clank in the bowl on the front table...then nothing!

I dreamt my father died two weeks before his scheduled hernia surgery. I called my mother the day after and told her about the dream and that I was coming up to their house to spend time with them.
The weird part about the dream was, yeah my father died, but my grandmother who had been dead for nearly 20 years showed up to the funeral. Everybody was so stoked to see her that it overshadowed the profound sorrow of my fathers passing.
Two weeks later my father passed away due to the negligence of the doctor performing the procedure.
Litigation pending.

We did several cleansing rituals. We also had two paranormal groups in the house. Why two? One came and would not return. They were afraid.

We also had the house blessed by a variety of people, all o who witnessed this activity. An Episcopal priest, A Lutheran Pastor, a Pentecostal preacher, a Taoist priest, a Rabbi, and a Wiccan priestess.

We covered our bases. Trust me.

My daughter's name was called - at first in her bedroom, which terrified her, and then through out the house. We heard foot steps, scratching sounds from inside the walls, (yes we had the house checked for varmints) and loud pounding that seemed to come from inside the walls. It was too high for it to have been a person. It was in a room with very high ceilings, and no windows.

I've had a few creepy experiences over the years but the most recent one was back in 2014. The wife and I had decided to visit Catalina for a short vacation and I haven't been there since I was a little kid and she never had been.
So everything is cool, but you can only do so much sightseeing on that tiny island so we decide to take the Avalon Casino / Theater tour because were both into architecture and cool old things.
I had heard stories of that place being haunted and our tour guide had mentioned it too, no biggy, we didn't really get any weird vibes and decided to go back later to watch a movie and that movie was the current X-men film that was out at that time.
So we watch the movie, great old theater btw, and we walk back to our hotel room to turn in for the night.

So I'm laying on the bed, the wife is washing her face and I just took my shirt off and she comes back into the room and lets out this huge gasp and covers her face.
I'm like "wtf?" I ask her what's wrong and she leans over me and says there is a huge scratch under my left Pec (more like moob) and I'm like"WTF?". I look down and this scratch is at least 8" long and is just starting to burn a little. This scratch was not there prior to going to the theater and I would remember if I had done it on the walk back.
I found it kinda odd that we watch a movie with one of the main characters that has giant metal claws that pop out of his hands and I find a giant scratch across my chest after watching that movie.
So that was my creepy moment for 2014.

We also had lived in haunted house in the Curtis Park area several years prior that had lots of activity and I'll post those stories at a later time.

Maybe not so much 'creepy', but definitely weird.

My old house was a three-level townhouse, with the uppermost level having a long hallway that connected the two bedrooms. My sister and I lived there with two dogs (greyhounds) and two cats. The long hallway was a popular 'run' for all four critters, all of whom at various times would run back and forth down the hall. Well, whatever amuses them and keeps them happy, right?

Well, sadly, one of the dogs passed away (nothing creepy or mysterious, just sadly bone cancer.) The day after she died, my sister and I were on the second level of the townhouse (kitchen/dining room/living room--all pretty much an open floorplan except for a half-wall separating the kitchen from the rest of that level.) My sister was in the kitchen making lunch, and I was on the sofa, watching TV, when we heard the usual 'thundering elephant' sound of one of the critters running up and down the upstairs hallway. I'd made some comment along the lines of, "There they go again."

My sister replied, "Must be Surviving Dog."

Me: "No, she's on the other side of the half-wall from you." (My sister couldn't see Surviving Dog from her angle.)

Then I realize.....both cats are downstairs with us; one in the kitchen with my sister, hoping to get some tuna, and the other on the sofa with me. And Surviving Dog is also downstairs....and all three surviving animals are staring up at where the noise of something racing up and down the hallway is coming from. Surviving Dog lets out a small heartbreaking whine, and I impulsively called out Deceased Dog's name.

The running noise stopped.

I guess Deceased Dog wanted to have one last run down the hallway.

This just happened and made me wonder when I thought about it later and mentioned it to my brother. Our usual grocery store had an off track wagering place in the same strip mall. When we'd go grocery shopping, I'd usually see this older gentleman sitting on a bench back near the deli. He'd be reading a racing form waiting( I assumed) for the OTW place to open at noon. Then maybe about 2 years ago the place closed and I hadn't seen him since. So on Monday morning after work, I went in the grocery store looking for one specific breakfast item. It was about 7:30 AM and there was the guy sitting on the bench reading the racing form. He's old, maybe about 70 and looked to not be in the best of health but just like I remembered him. I thought it weird that he'd be there, unless he just liked to hang out there. But why the racing form? Maybe you can bet online but there's no OTW place around anywhere any more.
So I mentioned it to my brother and he said " Maybe you saw his ghost."

I've had several things happen during the course of my life....

1. Premonitions....could describe names, dates and places, which had already happened. The people involved, were actually shocked. A man I was dating...saw him on the beach with a woman, described what was going on, how she looked, the name of the town and city she was from, etc. Saw them go to her apartment for a party, described the back steps which were iron steps 3 flights up. And many other happenings over the years...

2. When our mother passed away, oh, 10 years ago now....after the funeral, every Sunday, my sisters and I got together to clean out the house. It was a huge Victorian, in which there was so much to go thru. Anyway, my mom was clinically blind, so my older sister bought her this small half moon shaped clock, which she could tap the top and it would automatically tell her the time, the date, and the inside temperature.

Every Sunday, while we were working in the house, that clock would go off stating the time, date and temp. not once, but several times as if someone would be tapping the top to set it off.

We looked at each other and all looked a tad scared, until my sister said, "she is simply telling us, that she is fine and it's ok to be doing this" We all went back to doing what we were doing.

3. We bought an old lake front property, which was haunted. So much so, that my husband and I went to inquire in town to find out who owned the home. (In other words, we'd ask people if they knew of the house and who owned it?) First night in the house, we had all the window open, when we went to bed. I awoke, hearing a man and a woman whispering. I woke my husband and he heard it as well. We both got up and walked around the house, looking out of every window. There were no neighbors close by. We walked outside, and found nothing...but they were close...

One night we came home from shopping and all the lights in the house were on, and the doors were locked. Another night, we awoke, and it sounded like someone falling up the stairs. Another night, my husband fell asleep, in a chair by the fireplace, we had a few logs on the hearth in one of those black half moon things with a gold handle. He said, someone picked it up and dropped it on the brick. We remodeled the entire home and after awhile all those things stopped happening. But we found out that a Priest had owned the home, and he drank, (hence, someone falling up the stairs) and a nun came to the home with him. (the man and woman whispering) It was their vacation home? We even told our minister about it. Our dogs while laying on the floor would look up as if to follow someone walking across the room? Really spooky.

4. I was driving home from shopping, had a VW camper...full of our camping and fishing equipment. I was making a left hand turn off of a four lane highway. Two lanes going north, two going south, there was no middle turning lane. A man was passing a rig and never saw me and plowed right into the back of my van. I will never forget the look on his face, when he realized he couldn't stop.

Before he rammed the back of my van, I gripped the steering wheel and said, "God Help Me". All of a sudden I heard this voice say very softly and calmly, "Everything is going to be all right". I felt calm, but then felt glass go into my face....and btw, this was purely a mental conversation, I don't believe any words were spoken outloud, I think? But in anger, fear, I said, "you said I was going to be all right, and I'm not!!!" He said again, "Calm down, everything is going to be fine, close your eyes, and breath." So I did, and I don't know the time span that all this occurred in, but it felt like an out of body experience....is the only way I can explain it. Like there was no time, no space, just being...very calm and peaceful. It felt like I was asleep and dreaming.

Then I opened my eyes, and the van had stopped, there were people all spread out over all four lanes just standing there, watching, and I wondered why no one came to help me. All of a sudden I hear this woman scream, "Someone please get her out of there!"

Now, when the van was hit in the rear, I had the steering wheel turned to make this left hand turn, so the van rolled on it's right side, and spun around 4 times (which is what someone told me) and some woman hit me coming southbound as well. I ended up in the southbound lane, looking north.

After that woman yelled that, I took some deep breaths, and smelled smoke. The van's front axle bent, and the van was up off the ground a few inches on the passenger's side so I quickly crawled out the passenger's side window. My shoes came off. A man and woman came running towards me and each of them grabbed me under both arms and pulled me away. I turned around and this thick black smoke, was rising very high in the sky. The van burnt and melted everything inside.

To this day, no one can tell me there is no God.

Fascinating, in light of that poster's experience.
