If there is a CU (Collective Unconscious) as has been suggested by certain famous people, then there may well be a store of energies which are put out by our brains/minds continuously during life and which may give us our 'life-review' at the end.
Is time linear? If not, then all energy and all time records in the CU are available to tap into if one has the ability.
Are there other dimesions? If so, then it is likely some of those people living in those other dimensions also have the ability to tap into this CU and probably also add to it with their own energies.
Of course, these are large 'IF' s but most people on here have probably considered at least some of them before.
From some of these discussions, it is only a few small steps to Heaven, Hell, Reincarnation, Ghosts, Aliens, and even God himself.
Yes I believe there is,you could almost call it the otherworld,if it can be understood it would not be with logic which belongs to the conscious world (yang) but the language of the unconscious (yin) which is intuition, symbols, metaphoric language, dreams etc.
One proof of the collective unconscious is how fairy tales and myths tend to be the same even across cultures that had no contact like versions of sleeping beauty in different cultures.

What cultures have a Sleeping Beauty-type story? There's nothing like that in East European folklore, which is very different from most West European folklore. The one fairytale from Western Europe I know of that has common themes with other cultures globally is Jack and the Beanstalk. The theme of the World Tree connecting heaven and Earth, by which the hero ascends to the world of the gods, or by which the gods descend from their heavenly realm, is found in many parts of Asia.

I saw a documentary which suggested that Westerners got to China long before the generally accepted date. It was argued that the Terracotta army in Xi'an was influenced by Western artists or designers due to the way the human figures were modelled. The documentary suggested that these Westerners came from Italy and then Eastern Europe with the traders. Something to do with the Xi'an body/hands/legs/etc which showed great similarities with Italian art and quite unlike other Chinese art culture at the time.
My point is that it appears there were foreigners moving about from continent to continent and taking knowledge with them. One only has to look at the spread of pyramidal structures across the world to see that our understanding of ancient human movements is not very good. Ancient Astronaut theorists believe there was a cross-culture knowledge exchange, so myths and legends of the Flood, Sleeping Beauty etc may well have come from there.

Yea that's fine to believe that, certainly there's evidence.
I think it's similar archetypes across cultures.

Hmm, we dont seem to be hearing from the religious folk on this one. I wonder why? Could it be that they dont want to consider anything which is not explained by or cannot be explained with reference to their belief system?
I was going to put this in therecent ghosts / Heaven/ God thread but I decided it needed a thread of its own. However, the religious folk over there are not biting on this discussion here.

I think you may be confusing the collective unconscious with what is termed Akashic Records.
Maybe the use of the word 'collective' throws things off?
The concept and term 'collective unconscious' came from Carl Jung. What he was meaning by collective, was that it was in everyone so is a 'thing' found within the whole. It's not a pool (collection) of knowledge, but rather an innate set of symbols, the archetypes for example, that are understood universally; all of us are born with it and because we all have it, that's what makes it collective. No one needs any special ability to 'access' it.
Now the Akashic Records are where all the memories and experiences of every lifetime is 'stored'. That is a pool of consciousness, the consciousness of all. This would possibly be where people draw from another lifetime to tell a past life story, or pick up on the life of another in the past to work through some sort common situation in this lifetime. Thier experiences can be our teachers. It could be how people can see back into time to solve a crime, as it holds everyone's memories. This does take some doing to access through meditations, hypnosis, etc.
