We put it out for the trash and saw them pick it up today.
Someone will salvage it, thinking they found a free antique. But maybe your cleansing procedure convinced the spook to let go of it, and move on with it's life. Or death. or purgatory, whatever.
I trash picked a lot of furniture through the years and never picked up a bad spirit, but it certainly adds fuel to the thought: why are they tossing this piece?
I'm in a position to buy new furniture, but I'll keep your story in mind if I ever have to go back to picking up stuff from the curb.
Bedbugs are another reason to never pick up from the curb! At least in my area. I would still have burned it to end the haunting cycle and protect others.
