Your cousin should have asked other cattle ranchers around if they'd ever experienced any unusual cattle deaths.
Why would a rancher tell a stranger anything?
Ruth are you going to respond to last last statement about your post?
Why are you assuming he'd be a stranger to his own neighbors and fellow ranchers? Even if he did approach ranchers he didn't know, most people would be willing to help out a newbie in the area and colleague in the profession.

What "last last statement" to what post?
The OP lives 400 miles away. Did you miss that? You are wanting a rancher to tell about his business and answer questions about his cattle. Most consider this NONE OF YOUR DAMN BSINESS.

You are wrong again. have told yu many times so. "No scat, no burials, no hairs that labs declared of non-human, Anon-known-primate DN,"
Many have sent in DNA AND IT COMES BACK UNKNOWN PRIMATE. darn caps. By law there are only a very few labs that are licensed to work with Primate DNA I have some scat. Do you want it? Why are you assuming that they bury the dead?
Not looking to hijack the thread, the cattle story was just my own personal example of accepting that a story, which seems outlandish, but which is truly terrifying to the person who experiences it, and having faith that if it was that frightening to them, then people who know this person and their veracity will probably give it more credence than strangers on a forum.
I have no idea what wrestled with the deer in OP's uncle's story and, whether you believe in bigfoot or not, he truly believes that that is what he saw and we weren't there to see it. I'm sure he can tell an alligator from a large hairy primate. It's a shame that the video is so poor, but I get that he was scared and what he saw was not what he expected to see and it shocked him. When you're scared, it's very hard to function and do what you realize you should be doing. It's like the "deer in the headlights" feeling. You see what is happening, but can't seem to make your hands and feet do what they need to do.

Who lives 400 miles away from where? The discussion there was not about the OP, it's about another poster's cousin, who bought ranchland in CO, and observed something unusual with some of his cattle. You seem to know some very different ranchers than I have; it's not an out-of-line idea to ask one's neighbors or other ranchers that one might meet in the general area, questions about natural predators in the area, say, and then seque into a question about whether there have been any unusual incidents.

It's also possible that it was both: an alligator nailing the deer in the water, with a big, tall, hairy something at the water's edge. It's clear by his reaction, that he saw, or thought he saw, something very unusual. I'm persuaded by that one analysis of the video, that it was an alligator in the water, but there could be more to the story. Just because there was an alligator doesn't mean there wasn't another creature nearby, as well.

Why are you dragging this up again? I responded to this days ago.

Like a bear asking himself if it was worth the risk to try and snatch the deer away from the gator.
