Where were all the Bigfoot sightings pre-1950s when much of America were living near wilderness and national forests?

Could only be in Florida. Chimps are tropical, and the only state with a tropical climate is Florida. Again, it is the food thing- what would they eat in the winter? So mark the skunk ape as extremely unlikely, and the rest of the bigfoot family as impossible.

I love bigfoot legends and I wish that it existed, but it doesn't.

- How would it get enough to eat withouy us at least having some bite marks in the odd dear bone?

- What would it eat in the winter?

- Why no body, bones, skull, etc?

- Why no fossil record of great apes in the Americas at all?

- Bipedalism is extremely rare

- How is it that there is not a single credible picture in an age where literally everyone carries around a camera in their pocket?

and on and odd. It is impossible.

There's a breeding population of rhesus monkeys in Florida:

There's also a chimpanzee refuge in Florida, and it wouldn't surprise me if some have escaped and gone feral.

Chimpanzee Information: Wild Chimpanzees in Florida? Gini Valbuena?

The most interesting photos of a Skunk Ape might be shots of either a feral chimp or orangutan:

Fortunately, the growing population of Burmese pythons in Florida can take care of the Skunk Apes ...

Florida ecosystems are a total mess.

Try searching in your favorite browser for "early bigfoot encounters".

The cold of Connecticut didn't seem to bother Travis the Chimp of North Stamford. His outdoor rampage was on a cold February day in 2009.

There are a number of interesting stories about Big Foot. I don't know if this can be called a big foot, but it was reported in the parer in B.C. Canada, Bigfoot: The Story of Jack, 1884

And here is a whole list of them for your reading enjoyment:Legends

The chimp in question was a pet, and kept indoors. He escaped and wreaked havoc. You can't transplant an animal that evolved for a jungle habitat to Connecticut and expect it to survive and breed. That's why you don't see palmettos or alligators in Connecticut. That's also why some species migrate south for the winter. If Travis the Chimp had been left outside in the cold of a Connecticut winter, he would have died.
