So what are you driving at?

If you don't wake up you die.

What's your point?

Bob.

multiverse...are we awake or asleep...when you leave a place do you really do...Been watching some crazy videos. Can a person exist in several dimensions or whatever you want to call it. Dying is a perspective. From my perspective i will never die...or know that i am dead

if we are multidimensional beings, then of course we exist in different realities at the same time. It is the only way to make sense of our existence. The trick is waking up to those other realities and being conscious in them.

or do you really go to sleep even? Maybe we are all living our lives in enclosed pods with the world simply a virtual creation while plugged into The Matrix.

There may be multiple dimensions, but the you that went to sleep in your apartment is still that version of you. Another may be a farmer working in their field, a teacher on a generation ship in Alpha Centuri, or a patron at an intergalactic bar like in the Star Wars catina ( hopefully not losing a limb in a bar fight though!)

Its fascinating to think about.

This is like pondering the question: am I the only thing that exists and everything around me is just a product of my mind? Or the question: does my consciousness and personality exist or is it an illusion?

They're fun to ask in late night talk sessions when you're young (and usually high ), but are ultimately unanswerable questions. It all depends on how you define "person" and "real" -- and that's not a trivial task.

Prove that you're the same person you were five minutes ago, and that you're not being continuously destroyed and recreated by space aliens for some reasons of their own, with memories intact. You can't. And that makes asking the question pointless because it's useless in making any real changes in the way you live your life.

That's the problem with multiverse hypotheses -- they're likely not testable. That means they're outside the bounds of scientific inquiry. They're an alternative to a one-of-a-kind universe seemingly tuned so that life and humankind (and consciousness) can arise.

Even though multiverse proposals are good empirically based philosophical proposals for the nature of what exists, they are not strictly within the domain of science.
