Maybe the dead are long gone to other places? OK, no, so in places where emotional attachment is strong, they may well be hanging around, but what else do you do with a location which is so damaged that no-one wants to live there? Even if you pull it down and rebuild something, it is likely the new place will still have problems. No-one wants to buy it after that kind of event.

Maybe we should be more mature as a civilisation and plant a beautiful garden with nice smelling flowers etc on the site to heal it from the horrific events which occurred there?

Where did you get this impression? Serious ghost hunters know they're not immune. If I'm remembering correctly, even your guys from Ghost Adventures have had some issues.
I must admit that those tv series made me a non-believer - not sure if this is good or bad..

Now he has the Ghost Adventures Artifacts showing all the stuff at his museum and again places himself and members of the public in possible dangerous situations. Some of the haunted artifacts with attachments have supposedly caused serious health issues and some, even death.

If you watch a couple of episodes you will see what I mean about thinking we humans are immune from effects as he challenges the accepted beliefs about the haunted artifacts.

Of course, there may not be anything to this Ghostie thing and it may all be a load of bunkham, in which case there is no problem. However, beliefs are a powerful force in our lives.

indeed, the more you believe it, the more it appears to be true. Actually, i kinda like GA, Zak sounds quite educated (judging by his lines, they are far more complicated compared with other show hosts).
The most faked haunted tv show, at least for me, is Ghosts of Shepherdstown.
