They're called soul groups. You might look into books by Brian Weiss or Michael Newton. Dr. Weiss didn't believe in reincarnation until he put a patient under hypnosis and asked her to go back to the time her phobia's began, and she started talking about a previous life. He started studying it after that.

The University of VA has done a lot of work on reincarnation, as I've stated before, and more universities are expanding their departments to study it, as well.

Like I've said many times, there needs to be a Hinduism subforum here on CD (among the Religion forums). There is no other religion that expounds more on reincarnation than this one. It's ridiculous that religions a fraction the size of it have their own subforums (not knocking these religions tho') but Hinduism doesn't! It's the third-largest religion in the world for Christ's sake (irony not intentional).

The things 99% of people around the world associate with Hinduism are weird things like the caste system, when in reality, the most important and defining aspect of the religion is its literature on reincarnation.

My understanding is, if you want to propose a new subforum under Religion and Spirituality, you'd want to post a message in that forum. Each forum has its own moderators so posting requests here isn't going to get to the Religion moderators. I'm frankly surprised there isn't one already.

I think a thread on reincarnation and how Hinduism embraces the idea would make a great thread here, although I understand the religion forum would attract a different group of people.

I've seen requests for new forums and sub-forums added in this forum:

If you decide to request it, please let us know. Perhaps if we all chime in, it will happen.

I am a Christian and I believe in reincarnation that it is a gift from God. The salvation of our soul comes only after Jesus Christ died on the cross and there is no other name written under heavens except in His name. Gospel must be preached not only to the living but also to spirits like what Jesus Christ did in I Peter 3:18-20 to give everybody an equal chance for the salvation of our own soul.
The reason why we reincarnate is to search for God and truly know ourselves for who we are, we will keep on coming back to reincarnate until we accomplish that divine purpose of our life on Earth. In the beginning was the Word and our beginning was the word to "Jah or Hah" which is Christ, without this Word or the first sound of cry no human being will ever exist on Earth (Jonh 1:1-9).

Many are of the belief when we die we go to Heaven (hopefully) and meet people we knew on earth; How could that occur if people's souls were recycled/reincarnated and already back here on earth?

If reincarnation is valid, the recycled soul has no remembrance of their previous life, so what would be the point? Unless at some time a bazillion years from now all of those 'souls' met up at a reunion? Talk about multiple personalities!

From what I understand, people don't necessarily have to
reincarnate right away. Therefore, they could be in
Heaven/Paradise when we got there, and the celstial
reunion can still take place.

I could easily see our loved ones hanging out there till we get
there, before we all dive back in and take another ride together
in this (or some other) world, playing new roles therein.

This is how Brian Weiss answers your first question. I found this on his website:

Quote:
Can there still be communication with a loved one if that soul has reincarnated?

Souls can reincarnate and often do, but their spirit also remains “available” in the spiritual world. Our soul is far greater than our physical body; it’s not limited by our constructs of space and time.

In answer to your second question, the soul does remember previous lives, but that doesn't mean we human beings are going to remember previous lives while in this physical form.

What's the point of reincarnating? To learn and evolve or to play a role that will help someone else learn and evolve.

There is no reunion with various souls - we only have one soul.
