Years back, a friend of mine was driving me to work and we were going down a service road which ran alongside the main road. It was a sunny morning and about halfway down we ran into a fog which was only about 30 feet long, just hovering above the asphalt. After work, I couldn't get anyone to drive me home so I had to hoof it. When I got to the spot where that fog was earlier, I started seeing dead bugs all over the road and a couple of birds on the shoulder that had keeled over.
My first thought was, why would they be going to local police for answer to this? What does law enforcement have to do with this?
Plus, the lady driving said nothing about any large trucks on the road, she said they started falling from the sky, said nothing about them hitting a large truck.
I have a feeling they just make stuff up for things they have no other explanation for, something that sounds logical and most people will believe and then forget about. They are never going to go on camera and say "we have no idea why this happened".
Maybe due to severe low in temperature, recently I found a lot of bees died on the ground near of a tree. My first thought was cold as a reason. such phenomena when it happens, it usually refer to High low in temperature, High raise in temperature, Pollution ( air, water...etc. ). I wonder if this happened for the first time or not. If so, it might refer to something more seriously.

Do you recall a smell in the fog area? Someone once told me, while he was camping, a small cloud floated by at ground level.

Something weird happens, you call the cops. I see something weird, I call the cops.
Seems very natural. You need to tell the people who might be able to help.

The police explanation that it was caused by the birds hitting a large truck was ridiculous though, the lady never mentioned seeing them hit a truck, not sure how they reached that conclusion.
If they hit a truck, they are going to fall right there, and it would be obvious to anyone seeing it, what was happening, according to the lady, this was something different.
May sound silly but I assume they may have flew through a gas cloud such as anhydrous or ?? Any guesses?
The Army installation I used to work at has a huge solar panel array and there were always scores of dead birds in and around it. Have absolutely zero clue what exactly was killing them, but, it seems reasonable it is some thing to do with the panel array.
