I don't usually post in this sub forum, but after seeing a friends video she shared on Facebook i thought this would be a good place for a discussion about it. I am a skeptic, but after seeing the video myself, it does raise some questions.
One of my coworkers moved to WV from NYC a few years ago. At the time, she lived on a hilltop in the heavily wooded outskirts of Huntington. One summer night she was outside on her back deck enjoying the weather when she noticed about a few hundred yards in the distance there were three or four orange colored, translucent orbs seemingly floating above the tree tops. She said they appeared out of nowhere, so she pulled out her phone and began recording (This is the part i saw on video).
The first 15-20 seconds you can see three orb's about the size of a basketball or maybe slightly bigger/smaller, burning orange like a candle flame maybe 100 feet above the tree line. They were stationary, and did not look anything like a drone or aircraft. You can hear her calling for her husband to come take a look. Then suddenly, the orbs move quickly and zip overhead and are gone out of sight.
In the video they didn't appear large enough to be a manned aircraft. And they certainly didn't make any sound. Per her account, the orbs didn't seem to be intelligently controlled either.
IMO, im wondering if it's some form of lightening, or other natural occurance? It really looked similar to some of the videos i have seen of the Hesdallen Lights.
Anyways, Im trying to encourage her to upload the video to youtube.
My husband and I saw a glowing green ball just south of the Indian River Inlet on route on a few years ago. It was nighttime and we were coming home from a night club. I had a few drinks and wondered if I was seeing things, but my husband was totally sober and we both saw the green blob at the same time. At first, I thought it was a balloon given that's what size it appeared to be--but balloons don't glow or move in such a fashion. It was out of our sight fast and we were both speechless. The area is known to be haunted and I have had some strange incidents when I run some trails near there as well.

Thanks, and feel free to comment/ask questions.
I’ve seen the same thing. In my case the orbs were blue, but everything else is exactly the same. I figured it was swamp gas or ball lightning, etc., possibly. But the thing that kept me thinking about it over and over was the way they zipped away. They were hovering, perfectly synchronized, in a horizontal circle of about six to ten feet in diameter. Then they zipped up and out into the sky. Nothing moves that fast. It was as if someone had a laser pointer and used it across a ceiling in a room. They also changed direction. I sometimes think about it every so often and wonder what the heck it was. I’ve read about sightings that pilots used to call “foo fighters” and think maybe it is something similar. Weird.

I’ve seen these on vacation in myrtle beach South Carolina. They’re reddish orange orbs that seem lit. We saw three, ours were moving and made no sound. Two just blinked out and one flew right over our heads. After researching, they seem quite common down there,

I was in in South Carolina at the time. This was in the ‘80’s, so I doubt they were drones, lol.
