I thought the bones taken to Fiji had been lost. Where did they come from, all of a sudden? Supposedly they're now available for re-examination?
They are lost. But the original report about them, including dimensions was used to reevaluate the claim using modern computer software. The results say they are from a woman of the same stature as Frau Earhart.
I'm partial to the Japanese grabbed her because of spying on their pre WW2 war footing efforts, and them putting her in prison where she died. I will not EVER believe anything that hack group Tighar comes up with.

Nobody will change my mind on those beliefs.
I've actually come to suspect that the Tighar group came into existence to create a smokescreen for the real story. As long as they can continue to breathe life into their theory, by whatever means, they can convince distract people from the Marshal Islands story. What pretty much convinced me of the latter story, was when I read that a Navy officer at the end of the war went to the area and did his own investigation, and concluded that Earhart had died at the hands of the Japanese. He wrote it up in a report. I don't recall his name, offhand. But the eyewitness accounts by Navy men of Navy officials burning her plane and destroying other evidence of her being captured (her briefcase), are convincing, too.
For crying out loud. They were on a 1930's aircraft with by today's standard primitive navigation and communication devices. The island they were trying to land on was barely above sea level and difficult to spot visually. They got lost, ran out of gas and crashed into the sea and died. End of story.
