It could end up being 100 percent wolf but a recent mutation. Things like that happen. Some scientists believe many species of animals and plants changed quickly with mutations, not needing millions of years to change with only evolution.

There are all sorts of wild exoctic animals imported to shoot'em in a barrel and feel like a man (because you really aren't) ranches out there. Maybe someone cross bred something and it got loose.

Wait; that’s what I thought I read too but we read it wrong: “It was a young, non-lactating female ...”. Still sad though!

Can you really mix a coyote, dog &/or wolf & expect smaller paws & shorter canine teeth? Those ears & that tail, along with “dainty” paws say “Fox” to me but I’m not sure how that works.
