Most people regard the date Germany signed the treaty of Versailles as the auspicious date regarding the Treaty of Versailles being Saint Vitus Day 28th June 1919.

Below are "co-incidences" regarding the Serbian and Baltic States involving 28th June, being Saint Vitus Day, any comments?


1) 1389, the Ottoman Empire defeated the Serbian army in the battle of Kosovo, both Sultan Murad and Prince Lazar were slain in battle, the Kosovo myth become important in forming Serbian identity.
2)1876, Serbian declaration of war against the Ottoman Empire, (Serbian-Ottoman War 1876-1876.)
3)1881, The signing of a secret alliance between Austro-Hungary and the principility of Serbia.
4)1914, the assassination of the austro-hungarian crown prince Franz Ferdinand by Gavrilo Princip, triggers World War One
5)1916, Radomir Vesovivic and other notable Montegrin officers planned uprising in Montengro againt Austro-hungarian occupying forces.
6) 1919 The Treaty of Versailles is signed ending World War One.
7)1921 The Serbian king Alexander 1st proclaims the new constitution of the kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, known as the Vidovdan Constiitution.
8)1948)The Cominform publishes on the initiative of its Soviet Delegates, Zhdanov, Malenkov and Suslov, in a resolution on the state of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia, their condemnation of the Yugoslavian communist leaders- This event is seen as the turning point that marks the final split between Stalin's Soviet Union and Tito's Yugoslavia, the date was carefully chosen deliberately!

9)1989) On the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, Serbian Leader Slobodan Milosevic delivers the "Gazimestan speech on the site of the historic battle.
10)1990 Anmendment is brought to the constitution of Croatia changing the status of Serbs from constituent people of the Croatian Nation to National Minority.
11) 2006 Montenegro is announced as 192nd member state of United Nations.
12)2008 The Inaugural meeting of the Community Assembly of Kosovo and Metorija takes place.
13)2017 Anna Brnabic is installed as the first female Prime Minister of Serbia.

Thank you for your kind words however my colostomy operation has been cancelled, i'll have to wait for a few weeks now!


Well today is the 104th Anniversary of the assassination of Arch-duke Ferdinand that triggered World War One, actually diplomats did warn that this could happen, being a national day for Serbs, however the Arch-duke disregarded the advice.


It had been long known in diplomatic circles that the Balkan States was a hot bed of dangerous implications where it could cause another war in Europe, Otto Von Bismarck died in 1898 so long before 1914, however he is quoted as saying "If there is ever another war in Europe, it will come out of some silly thing in the Balkans....link below:-
