We were in a social studies class together, and I was bored, not paying attention, and daydreaming, when I heard the teacher say, "Class, 'Mary's' grandfather has just passed away." I immediately turned to Mary (who sat next to me), and told her, "I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa."

I noticed that you stated that you were bored, not paying attention and daydreaming. When I search the meaning of 'daydreaming', I found out that it's different than the meaning of a dream. So, I'm just curious to know, are you sure that you were not sleeping or taking a nap and this wasn't a dream? Do you remember whether or not you put your head on the table? Because it's possible when you were tired, sleepy, and bored to sleep during the class, like to take a nap and then dream of something represent the same situation you were at in reality (class, teacher, students) which could make you confused if this was a dream or real. You could have been sleeping or between sleep & waking.
If this was a dream, it means you've experienced a True dream; A dream that happens exactly as it is without needing to figure out its symbols.
