I began to notice that I have had several valuables go missing in the course of a week and I at first thought maybe I misplaced an item here or there but then when the rate increased I knew this was not just me and my mind. I spoke to a friend about the folktale in Hispanic culture about “Duendes” and then soon after things vanished with no explanation. I’m not too sure what to do. I’ve had jewelry, clothing, and a card all disappear in the last 3 days. Do I sage my home? Do I call a priest? I have called out and asked for my things to be returned *sounding crazy in the process* but I’m at my wits end and ready to breakdown. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.
I’m not too sure. Nothing to my knowledge about it being haunted. I would love to say no but then again when I first moved in I thought I saw someone in my roommates room and I freaked out. But I’m just not too sure. I don’t typically feed into my imagination but at this point it’s concerning.
Is there any possibility someone else has access to the home? Have you ever given anyone a key: friend, relative? Did you have a spare key hidden outside, that someone could have found and started using? Have you checked all entrances, to see if a latch is broken, or if a window's been jimmied?
I don't think it's anything from mythology. From what I've heard about some of those traditions, it's not usually valuables and clothes that are taken. There's a pattern in your situation, favoring valuables. It sounds like someone's gaining access to your place.
Have you ever had a roommate, who could have made a spare key and kept it after moving out? Or a relative you gave a spare to, and somehow their teenage kid got a hold of it and used it?
Could be some other explanation. Maybe you have developed a sleep walking problem and started hiding valuable objects in your sleep. However silly it may sound, it is 10,000% more realistic than attributing it to something with no evidence whatsoever ie. a ghost.
Put a camera up and put some valuables out and see what happens
