UFO Sighting.Net has obtained a copy of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Report that tells of a UFO crashing into Clan Lake located in its remote Northwest Territories, which was witnessed by two campers. (See a copy of the report in the slideshow below)

Judging from this article, there's only 2 possibilities. One, it's an alien spacecraft. Or two (which I believe is the more plausible one), it's an experimental human military aircraft. I don't see why advanced aliens would come here. Concerning our position in the galaxy, we are as isolated as Hawaii with only one close neighbor, and no one knows for certain yet if Alpha Centauri even has planets.

wow it happend in 1960 during the cold war Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow program going with on and the US had it's "skunk works" division of secret planes like the U2 and SR-71.
a U2 could be mistaken for a UFO which it would be since it was not supposed to exist

After being their only 20 minutes and while they were setting up camp, the two eyewitnesses heard a loud noise coming from above, which sounded similar to an airplane. But as the noise began to roar, they saw a strange object fall from the sky and crash into the lake.
