Keep in mind, they told the public for years they had no active projects involving UAPs/UFOs...they lied about that!It wouldnt surprise me one bit if they have similar 'deep black' projects going on today, ultimately, this falls under 'psy warfare'.
Also important to remember, while remote viewing may not have produced the results they were hoping for, but it still did succeed to some degree, but not every person has this ability, its not something you can learn or develop.
I remember my parents talking about how some government agency was doing this with my uncle Toby, aka Father Andrew; who was the Abbot of a Benedictine Monastery in Pecos, New Mexico. He is now in his 80's & retired at a Monastery in Roswell, NM.

It literally had to do with information in sealed envelopes & interviews but I was a kid & didn't pay much attention to the conversation. Mom was the one more intrigued by it. He is my dad's brother but my dad is a (ret) USAF Colonel with TS clearance who worked in Intelligence based out of the Pentagon & he was more critical of the whole ordeal.
I do remember my mom saying that my uncle had been participating for years with these interviews & had been extensively tested prior to participating. He is also a literal genius, fluent in several languages & has studied ancient cultures, anthropology & theology all over the world.

If you were not aware, there was a movie made about this, starring George Clooney, 'The men that stare at goats', it was sort of a comedy, but the project was real and the movie gives some details about what they were attempting to do, although it was mostly about the incident where a person stopped a goats heart using only his mind.
Do some reading on Remote viewing, its very interesting, not everyone can do it.
