I get the general impression that an increasing number of people are thinking this
pandemic isn't what it was first made out to be, including those who took it very
seriously initially (which isn't a bad thing, necessarily, until more is known).
Not that pandemics don't happen, but that the response to this particular one might
have been a tad overblown, especially given that the response caused other equally
serious problems (job loss, businesses failing, suicides, etc.) that ultimately could
have been avoided.
In other words, it’s turning out that it hasn’t exactly been something out of Stephen
King’s
The Stand, even though the overall reaction made it seem like that’s what we
were up against. But then again, maybe the response is what prevented it from
turning into a
The Stand-type scenario. Who knows?
I have a hunch that it will resolve by the end of the year. Just a hunch, maybe just
wishful thinking; nothing solid I can refer to for that.
